Mika, Sherlyn housemates?
Shilpa Shetty is going to replace earlier anchor Arshad Warsi and is reportedly being paid Rs 9 crore for the show. Other participants of the much-talked about reality show Big Boss to be aired on Colors have been kept tightly under wraps but we managed to get the names of a few people who have been approached for the show. The buzz is that Mika Singh, Ketaki Dave, Raja Choudhary, Sherlyn Chopra and Aamir Khan's brother Faisal Khan are in Big Boss as housemates. When contacted most of them admitted that they were approached but are in denial about being a part of it. Sherlyn feels that if she takes part she will be expelled on day one "because of my mood swings." Singer Mika Singh says, "I was asking for a one-and-a-half crore but they are willing to give me 75 lakhs. I have many shows lined up in the US." The signing or the lock-in amount, according to sources, is two lakhs. Jahnvi Kapoor, the girl who threatened to commit suicide the day Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai got married, according to sources, has been approached to be a part of the reality show. Others on the list include Pulkit Samrat who had played Lakshya in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Apparently, he is trying to get a foothold in films and feels that being locked in the house for three months will affect his career.Babul Supriyo who displayed a sense of humour in his last outing on the small-screen as the celebrity participant in NDTV Imagine's Dhoom Macha De was also contacted but he refused and so did Shakti Kapoor. All the housemates are under contract obligation not to divulge any details prior to the inaugural telecast. Shilpa steps in Akshay's shoes Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi is the channel-driver for Colors and has so far got the highest ratings of 2. However, the show will be over within two weeks and will be replaced by the Shilpa Shetty -hosted Big Boss. Both the shows are being produced by Endemol. Talking about the shows, Deepak Dhar, Country Head, India,Endemol, says, "With Akshay Kumar, Fear Factor was taken to a different scale. It got a big leap in the positioning and with 13 beauties it was nothing short of a Bollywood potboiler." So is a second season on the cards? "We have a two-season contract with Colors but it is premature to talk about it," replied Dhar, who is confident that even Big Boss will grab eyeballs. "It will be very different from the one that was aired on Sony. The housemates will be bolder and the show will be bigger with lots of twists and turns. Of course, Shilpa as the narrator will bring to the table all her experiences, trials and tribulations of being part of Celebrity Big Brother," elaborates Dhar.
