No darling. Making vaidehi "a little bit less negative" wont make any difference. Vaidehi is a pure evil character. Eku is a justified character. If he wudnt have been send to jail for such an accusation he wudn't be like this. But Vaidehi is like this from beginning. So don't compare them.

You will not get it...u need to be in Eku's place to understand him. If (dont take it personally) u were put into jail for such a disgusting accusation which u havent done, and were betrayed by everyone - u wud have understood the pain that goes thru Eku. Regarding not trusting his wife, well he once trusted everyone, and u can see the result he got after that, so now he thinks its better not trusting anyone. BTW if u remember KT, Lakshya also didn't trust Eku, but they aren't being put at fault - are they? No. Eku also don't trust LKT, and LKT also didn't trust Eku. Both are equal in not trusting.
