I too have been waiting for Mona to get rid of her mangalsutra and sindoor however for her they are the final reality of all that she was, she'd dreamt off being- a wife, a daughter in-law, a mother within them and the removal of them means it all comes to an end.
I think there is a separation between mind and heart; in her mind she knows it's all over but in her heart hope no matter how small always lingers that possibility it's all a bad dream, that there's someway to bring back the past-that's one of the reason wives forgive their husbands when they stray; pretend it never happened!
I'm sure she will take it off but I'd like to see it being done as laying a ghost to rest, as an end to something that finished a while back. I don't want someone telling her to take it off, I'd like her to just look into the mirror as her hand automatically goes to the sindoor box and realises it no longer belongs to her. Then looks at the mangalsutra and realises that too doesn't belong to her and takes it off. No fan fair, no tears, no lectures from anyone just simple acceptance that she is no longer Mona Singh.
As for Vineet he's always been patient and tolerant with Mona but he has always pushed her even when she thought she didn't need it or couldn't do something. We have to remember that Vineet is a highly successful business man and so can recognize people; knows how to read them. He said so when Mona confronted him in front of Dadi about that girl he was getting engaged too.
That's why he was able to see the specialness and rarity of Mona and pushed her in her work and also one of the reasons he fell from friendship into love with her.
He also knows that she doesn't love him and that's why he said their marriage will be in name only; the best way to imagine Vineet is as a horse trainer who has been given a lovely talented horse but that has been abused by its previous owner,so is wary and scared and wants to run away.
Vineet knows when to relax the rope to let the 'horse' run but also when to pull the reins in; accepted her resignation but enforced the 1 month rule, allowed her to pay for the cake but returned the extra amount. He's never pushed his love on to Mona but nor has he looked ashamed of loving her nor taken advantage of the Alok situation.
PraCreep you can learn a thousand or two things from Vineet!
