"For me trend does not really matter" |
Keeping fit or staying trendy, according to you, which one is more important?
Trend, does not really matter. It's the matter of being happy and contended in life. And for me, keeping fit, is going to the gym and working out. And this gives me immense pleasure.
How do you keep up with your fitness level?
Well, I work out four to five times a week. I even do a lot of horse riding whenever possible. In fact, I keep a cycle in the back of my car, for when I am late on the shoot, I ride back home. It's a great ride and it helps me keep fit too.
Which gym do you workout in?
I go to Moksh gym.
What do you prefer, cardio or weight exercise?
I do both, it's like if I do half an hour of weight, I do 15 to 20 minuets of cardio. I like a combination of both.
"I don't beleive in dieting at all" |
How many meals do you have in a day?
Six meals.
Which one of them, according to you, is most important?
All are equally important. I don't believe in having a light dinner or anything of that sort.
What kind of a diet do you follow?
I don't follow any diet schedule. It's just that I eat every now and then. In the morning I have to have a glass of dudhi juice with ginger and then a protein shake after my workout. Then, I am a great veg eater, so I have a beet root or anything of that sort in combinations. Later, I have an egg omelet or something else as soon as I reach my shoot. I have my lunch after a while and this routine goes on for the day.
Does your profession affect your health?
Kind of. If you don't really get disciplined and realise your priorities, it does affect you adversely. Actually it's just like any other job, but a little more tiring.
How do you manage working out regularly after keeping such a tight schedule?
I sacrifice my sleep for it. It takes me three hours traveling, therefore I make it a point
"I keep my cycle at the back of my car, and ride it back home whenever am late" |
to get up early and go to the gym straight and by the time I am free from my gym, my driver is there, ready with the car and my bag and baggage of food and other necessities. Then from there, I straight away rush to work.
Something you avoid eating?
Not really. I am a typical Punjabi guy and love to have sweets after every meal. And this is one thing that I try to avoid but it's not possible always.
Some specific health drinks?
It's just my vegetable juices.
Do you meditate or do any kind of yoga?
Yoga is an essential part of my schedule as I've heard that doing too much of weight makes the body stiff and rigid and I don't want that. Therefore, I do yoga once or twice a week and this relieves me a lot. It is helpful and has cured my back problem to a great extent. In fact, I do some yoga every day, it helps me to relax.
