There is no point in looking at logic and character growth in itv. Kumkum bhagya had pranbir who were kind of like rajveer and palki. But boy oh boy is that drama so exhausting with no real reasons for misunderstandings and what not. Atleast pragya abhi pairing had misunderstandings that made sense for the leaps. So you never know how the writers would go, most probably based on popularity and scope for fun moments and drama(probably why they chose preeran over preeta and rishab).
I know Rishab also had some dream moments but lately shaurya is given more of those with palki and they even danced together. And if they go with shalki, there is also more drama from shanaya and other suitors of shaurya like they had with karan. No doubt that rajveer is better suited like how rishab was better suited for preeta compared to karan.
Although I like the physical chemistry of shaurya and palki, I hope the writers dont forget how he framed her for stealing and humiliated her and basically ruined her wedding and was going to blow up Rajveer. So,lets see what they are going to do.
Edit: after seeing shaurya's attempts to still blow Ranveer up after everything in today's episode, I think it's safe to say no shalki. It's only for TRP and to make shaurya hate rajveer more thinking another person he loves is also going to choose him
