Gussa and revenge for killing him. Not having an affair. That part he was upset about, but he was willing to accept it IF Preeta and Rishabh gave him an explanation.

As a PreeRan fan you are probably upset and very saddened but there are plenty of people who liked Rishabh and Preeta together at least in the begining of the show, in fact up until a certain point the people who prefered Rishabh-Preeta over Karan-Preeta were in a majority! However, the point that you made is also valid the makers have used Karan-Preeta's story for so long it is definately a gamble to have Rishabh and Preeta's story this time around all of a sudden!
