Okay I think the reason she is staying out is she can figure out Preeta has something but they are not disclosing it to the full family which is fair enough considering Preeta knows about her and Prithvi.
When Prithvi questioned her, she didn't tell him anything which is a big step for her. Otherwise, she would have hinted that Preeta is up to something.
I think she believes that what Preeta has is enough so she does not have to do anything.
What might happen is with Sandeep missing Sherlyn might figure out Prithvi had a hand in it and might do something to help them find Sandeep. We might see Preeta Sherlyn team up afterall.
In case that happens and Prithvi figures out that Sherlyn has helped them either he might take her down too or he just might not know and escape so they keep his track open.
She might even help Prithivi escape as a last favor to him. She can always say she helped Preeta find Sandeep so they cannot blame her for Prithvi escaping.
Just a few guesses.
