preeta's self respect...

keeping the PreeRan and RishTa ships aside.

Karan deceitfully got married to preeta, lied to her about loving her, threw her out of his car on the road, humiliated her time and time again. But the most important thing, he was about to get married to someone else despite not getting a divorce and wanted her to witness all of it.

the Luthras have insulted and publically shamed the aroras more times than I bother to count. They claim to be high-class individuals but fail to behave like that. when preeta got married to Karan infornt of them, they dismissed it and literally threw her out of their house. They called her bad because she tried to seek justice for herself.

now after all this, how is preeta still so concerned about the luthras? how does her self respect get swept under the rug when she is with Karan? she claims her reason for coming back was Mahesh uncle but in no way does she behave like that. one minute she is challenging Mahira and Sherlyn and the next she is romancing with Karan. how can she still stay with that family after all that has happened?! I find it her doormat personality really appaling.

I dont know if it's just me but I dont understand what her feelings for Karan are. it only seems like friendship to me. but if she does have romantic feelings for him, then admit it and chose wether that or self-respect is more important.

i just want her to make up her mind. no offense to anythone tho.

whatever u said about preeta's doormat personality is absolutely true but i want to give reply of specifically this part ☝️

as sarla said preeran's relationship is more than friendship but it is less than love. karan actually loves preeta and he has realized his feelings for her. he has expressed his feelings directly or indirectly on many occasions.

but preeta on the other hand has never ever realized that she is in love with karan because she actually doesnt love him that way. she kinda loves him as a friend and husband but this is not that "fall in love" wala love. she is not madly in love with him. preeta will confess her feelings in front of karan but IMO she will do it only when shrishti and janki will convince her to do so. i doubt she is ever gonna realize her feelings for karan. she is scared of mahira's closeness to karan, janki and shrishti have already told her to confess her love once, they might try to convince her again. and she will confess in front of karan out of mahira's fear.

Why preera is confused is because the makers purposely made it this way. I think later in future she will have to chose between rishab and karan.

So she cant determine her own feelings. The same feelings she will have for rishab later and then she has to decide whom she truly loves

It looks like she loves karan but actually she never admitted even to herself

(I think karan once said to prithvi but I dont know if he confessed to himself or not)

But when karan proposed her after marriage she was happy but didn't said it back

And after their first fight after rishLyn marriage she dreamed about karan proposing her but still she hasnt said 'I love karan' to herself 🙄

Preeta doesn't have self respect....

When karan threw her out of house first time she came back for sharlyn's muh dikhai 🤔

If she came there just for mahesh she should keep remaining karan that 'jab me yaha se chali jaungi tab karna ye sab'

But she didn't even said once that she will be out of LH after mahesh's recovery

I guess that makes more sense. I have similar thoughts about this. to me, preeta likes Karan as a friend and is trying to be a good wife but isnot really in love with him.

that's why I find it irritating. she herself is so indecisive that it become hard for me to sympathise with her as a character.

Being a mostly neutral audience member from the start without being a fan of any actual pairing (although I have slowly grown to kind of ship rishta a little), I have to be honest and say that preeran are the first pair on itv I have seen who I just don't feel love each other at all truly, and it doesn't even have anything to do with karan always distrusting preeta (because it's from both preeta and karan's side I feel it's not real love despite preeta not being distrusting like karan).

I've seen plenty of couples on ITV where the guy doesn't trust the girl he claims to love, but still feel there is love between the couple, but just there are people close to the male lead who he trusts due to whom he is unable to give the full trust to his lady love that she deserves.

It's not as if there is anybody he trusts and loves who is poisoning his mind against preeta at all like other male leads. I mean, his belief that preeta is reason for his dad's accident was because of sherlyn cooking up a theory that karan knows is against preeta's nature, that because she was kicked out of luthra house and insulted by karan, she took it out on mahesh when he came to her house and that she must have treated mahesh the same, and mahesh must have been upset because of preeta and that's why he had accident after leaving ehr house. What a stupid theory, which karan instantly believed, that too despite it being just a theory, and from sherlyn's mouth. He really believed that to avenge karan insulting and kicking her out of his house, preeta would insult and throw out a luthra elder from her own house. What rubbish!

With karan and preeta, my lack of belief in their love being true stems first from perhaps that their love started from a friendship that itself I had always found weak. Karan since start did not believe preeta... he only started believing, trusting and considering her a friend when he realised preeta was right about sherlyn being evil and he was desperate to save his brother.

It was through this desperateness of karan to save his brother, the knowledge that it was preeta who brought sherlyn's true intentions to his attention, and that both he and preeta shared this common goal that actually laid the foundation for karan to actually start trusting and supporting preeta. The fact that this all mostly went for a toss when he believed preeta sold him out to sherlyn and pretty much believed with no evidence that preeta was reason for his dad's accident, and then everything he did to preeta post that cemented my belief on their friendship never really having been true, and mostly being conditional from karan's side.

I could still give the benefit of the doubt that it is probably true love from preeta's side, because of how unconditionally supportive and forgiving she has been towards karan, but then again preeta has been like that for the luthra's altogether, where she is unconditionally ready to put aside her own safety, self-respect and support luthra's and be by their side. With Preeta, the only thing I see that makes her feelings for karan anymore different from how she is from the rest of the luthra's is just what I see as romantic attraction, and even that too I always felt is mostly an attachment to him that she is confusing as true love. Even the romantic attraction between preeran I have always felt much more strongly from karan's side compared to preeta.

I don't know. Preeran's bond to me seems far more similar to puppy love than true love. There's attraction. There's attachment. But nothing else. It's almost as if the times spent as friends and supporters of each other working towards a common goal has made them confuse attachment for love. Again this is my opinion, but just based on the innumerable ITV couples I have watched where too there are trust issues of the male lead towards the female lead, this is the first time I have felt that this is just two people who think they are in love and are not and it's proving hard for me to describe in words why I feel this way.

And like how others pointed out, preeta has not even admitted to herself yet even in her thoughts that she loves or thinks she loves karan.

absolutely on point. i feel exactly the same regarding preeran.

Preeta is physically attracted to Karan. Once they do the "It" Preeta will come to her senses and hopefully fight for her self respect.

Preeta is a good human being and she wants to save Mahesh uncle which is good but all this aside, she definitely lacks self respect in regards to Karan matter. She needs to tell the truth about Mahira and Sherlyn harming Mahesh uncle to Karan whether he believes her or not instead of romancing with him. Once she proves that she is guiltless then let Karan to repent and then decide whether she can stay in a marriage or not. I do not see any love in their relationship. Karan is attracted to her beauty when he doesn’t trust her, it’s not love but something else. Preeta is not near to that love stage yet and definitely she is confused.
