@bold- Wouldn't that be nice but considering this is EK, I will not have any expectations of non love/family tracks for any of the leads.
OMG I too hated what they did to Shesha. She could have been an antihero too. It's not even that they made her a villain, but the whole Shesha vs Shivanya for Rithik pissed me off. 🥱 She had no individual track and it was always about destroying Rivanya. She could have been such an awesome character.
This is why I don't trust EK. Better to watch her shows for the superficial stuff.
I have a feeling they will make Rishabh an antihero who will try to break PreeRan up 'cause otherwise there will be no controversy Plus, Manit has played negative roles in the past. The one I remember is from Ram Milayi Jodi where he was the abusive fiance of the female lead.
However, I don't think he will ever be out and out negative, just the typical AYM who hides a heart of gold beneath a hardened exterior.
I think Manit can be an awesome antihero/villain as long as he gets a good storyline for himself. RishTi tick many boxes so I see them ending up together. Plus, EK loves the badi bahu vs chhoti bahu angle. So, Srishti will become the badi bahu despite being younger and PreeTi will face off.
I KNOW RIGHT, I was so mad that Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh was promoted as a platonic friendship story but even there kekta had to insert love story in there🤢😡 like WHY cant a girl be single and enjoy her life for once. Shrishti is fierce, independent and so sassy, she would be utterly ruined if she gets married or worse turned into a villain😡, Anjum does give off that vibe that she can play a villainbrilliantly, I just dont want that because that's so effing typical😡. I don't want to see her into the dutiful bahu like Preeta will ultimately be, or even a villain and scheming with Bua or whatever🤢
As for Shesha - dude Shesha was a BRILLIANT character, she was literally one of my fave Kekta characters ever created, like she was so damn badass, fierecely loyal to Shivanya and her naagin family, she hated humans and wanted to kill them at the slightest drop😆, and her one liners were brilliant. She was a perfect foil to Shivanya. She literally even had her head chopped off because she was protecting Shivanya and THEY RUINED EVERYTHING by having her fall for Rithik🤢 like I loved RiVanya so much and I loved SheshAnya as well, their bonding was beautiful, I'll never forgive Kekta for ruining my Shesha and making her so disgusting that she would be out to kill her own sister, the one she got her head chopped off for, the one who she protected through think and thin, the sister who was her world. Also the fact that she killed Gurudev, a father figure to her for so many years. W*F that made no damn sense all for Rithik who only met her like 5 days ago and that too thinking she was Shivanya and they butchered her character beyond repair, I hated how they ruined her so much. Adaa and Mouni too had such an amazing chemistry, like I know that if Naagin was a western show SheshAnya would've been having shippers like SwanQueen and Clexa.😆 and there definitely would've been tumblr fanwars between RivAnya and SheshAnya shippers😆
No joke though I know Naagin gets made fun of for being outrageous(it is) but the first 50 or so episodes were brilliant, the story was so well done and the revenge drama was excellent, you could tell that Kekta had really put some thought into that aspect of the story and even RivAnya's love story was so subtle and beautifully done, the way Rithik cared for her and thought of the world of Shivanya was the only part that I hated about it was the nevla and the morni like that was W*F beyond anything🤣 and the whole Mahishpati thing. I didn't even bother with the second season only because there are certain actors in there that I abolutely cannot stand with every fibre of my being, so even though I was a huge Adaa-Mouni fan I couldn't watch the second season.
Anyways back to KDB - I would absolutely HATE if they made Rishab into an antihero or villain just for the sake of plot points or to glorify PreeRan, because first it makes NO ABSOLUTE SENSE that a dream guy like Rishab would even think of doing something drastic. One of the reasons why I fell for/love RishTa is that beautiful friendship they have, the fact that he is always there to help her in her hurdles, that would all be ruined if he's negative🤢 and WHY even create a beautiful character like Rishab Luthra, to just have him as a villain out to get his brother and friend like ugh, fingers crossed they don't head down this path If not Preeta then he deserves someone who appreciates the love and compassion and kindness he has, if Preeta aint worth it then someone as worthy should be able to have him because he is too precious to be wasted away as a villain. Same with Shrishti, I would HATE it if they made her negative or have her be against Preeta, like it would be Shesha all over again, how the hell can a girl who loves her sister beyond anything can be out to murder/torture her over some dude and scheming with Bua etc who mean nothing to her, I really hate when shows do this🤢 ruining a beautiful sibling bond over idiotic lurrve stories🥱 like if you dont have the guts to show good bonding then why the hell create it in the first place.
I don't doubt Manit or even Anjum's abilities as actors to play villains, I think they would be good, but my problem is the butchering of their character in order to play the villains. Like Adaa and Sudha Chandran, both were always playing a villain in their other shows and they were made villains only in Naagin, when they can play such a kickass anti-hero/foil with ease and a caring mother respectively, then why have the villain role anyways. I dont get why Kekta creates such good characters in the beginning only to have them be villains later on🥱 if that was ultimately their fate then why create them so brilliantly in the first place, then show them as a villain from the start nah.
sorry for the rant😆
