Yet another woman vanishes from tellyland, as Juhi Parmar takes a well-deserved break from Kumkum

Close on the heels of Prachi Desai's exit from Kasamh Se, another household name Juhi Parmar aka Kumkum is on her way out of the popular afternoon daily soap by the same name.

Juhi, who was born in Ujjain and raised in Jaipur, shot to fame with her portrayal as the abiding bahu of the Wadhwa family. But after having shot constantly for the last six years (the first episode of Kumkum went on air on July, 15, 2002) the actress has opted for a 'break'. If sources are to be believed, the duration of the break is going to be for as long as four months and like viewers, the Wadhwa family (read co-stars) will have to do without their favourite bahu Kumkum.

Juhi has already informed about her decision to discontinue with the show for the moment. Anuradha Prasad, who is the producer of the show, says: "Yes, we are re-structuring the story as Juhi won't be there for two months."

Sources close to Juhi indicate that the hectic telly grind has finally taken a toll on the actress and she has been contemplating taking a break for a while now. Juhi, when contacted confirmed her hiatus from hectic television schedules. She admits, "Yes, I'm taking a break from the show. I have communicated my decision to the producers. They have been very understanding. However, we are yet to figure out my last date, and other details."

Talking about her move, Juhi further explains: "I'm an actress and I have been part of the show for the last six years. I need a breather, and that's exactly what I'm going to do."

The buzz is that Juhi wants to take a break for a minimum of four months and later weigh the situation and decide if she wishes to resume shooting for the show at all. Ask her if she is going to be back anytime soon, and she says, "At this point I cannot comment on the duration of the break, and as to when I'm coming back. Let me tell you I'm not making room for other assignments. I'm just going to relax. An extended holiday is the first thing on my mind." So no musical chairs happening here.

If the record of lead actresses taking a break from their long-playing serials is anything to go by, then it's unlikely that Juhi will return. Other actresses who had taken a break from their shows and never returned are Smriti Irani from Kyunki… and Roshni Chopra from Kasamh Se. Let's see if there is a hattrick of the vanishing act in this vacation.

are freakin serious?.......what the heck man.......i cannot believe this........whats happening in kumkum?.....everyones leaving.......this show is nothing without sukk........there are gonna be some very angry and disappointed people on this forum........naina

OMG! are you serious.

Okay first of all. no one can take juhi's place. no one act SOO perfect like juhi herself acts like kumkum. n no more kumkum-sumit chemistry. NOO!! 😭 😭 this cant be happening.
