Juhi says, ’ no more dailies’

Juhi Parmar has no hassles accepting the fact that she feels really stupid playing mother to those who are either her age or elder to her.

She says, "When the serial I was doing took a generation leap, I was not very confident whether I would be able to relate to the character anymore. Frankly, I still can't. But since this is the trend on almost all the soaps on television, I am fine with it." So has she ever thought of being a part of more dailies? "Not at all. I believe in being exclusive. If I am seen too much on television, the freshnes might be lost."

Doing an afternoon daily for almost five years may be boring, but Juhi is happy till the time the show is popular with audiences. She declares, "It is a double whammy when, even after being in an afternoon daily, I am giving tough competition to primetime shows. The number of awards Kumkum has got says a lot about that."

Juhi is also very clear that she does not want negativity of any kind to be a part of her professional life. And that was the reason why she backed out of Nach Baliye 3 .

She reveals, "The channel wanted me to choose the best dancer from among contenders from the public. Since, the idea didn't go down well with the participants, I backed out. I didn't want to be a part of something that was not appreciated by those who were a part of the show."

Juhi will now be seen displaying her vocal capabilities on Say Shava Shava on NDTV Imagine. She is upbeat about the show and adds, "I have taken this up as a challenge. Everyone knows that I am a good dancer, but to sing on a show and be judged is a little scary for me. The initial jitters are there, of course, but I will have to overcome them."
