the prosecution lawyer asks for kk to be given phaasi for poisoning katara. even if kk did kill katara, which she obviously did not...is it right to give her phaasi?is death sentence not only for the rarest of the rare crimes, according to the indian constitution?

Ofcourse it is.. but guess they wanted to show an extreme, and phaansi is the ultimate.

Maybe a life imprisonment or anything else would not have the kind of impact they wanted to bring out.. Moreover, the emotions/reactions (like that of Su) would not have been so strong..

Magar fikr kyon karte ho Sumit ko sab pata chal gaya hai, Katara mara nahi hai to Kumkum ko kis baat ki phasi milegi.......Don't worry & be happy......................
