Money. That's what drives everyone in the final analysis, whether in the glamour world of acting or the hard grind of scripting and producing. Cashin' In sits down with TV celebs to know well they handle their financial matters, and tracks their spending patterns.

The saas with oomph factor in Zee's Teen Bahuraniya - Koki hails from a rich family and does little to show that off to her competition. We met with the reel saas essayed by actor Nimisha Vakhria and quizzed her on her financial quotient, and we were in for a pleasant surprise!

"Financial management is a must for everybody"

One must know the basics of investing. Fortunately I enjoy learning new tricks about the trade: be it mutual funds, bank interests, shares or property, they are all essentials when one thinks about investing his/her hard earned money. Mutual funds are a convenient investment for young people, there are so many advising agencies which will help you with your investment planning but it is a must to read the fine script.

"Shares are interesting and fun for people who like to take risks"

It is wise to study the market prior to investment. If you are not good and committed to the market changes then that road is not for you. And this is anyway not the time to invest in shares, we predicted that the market will come down after such a big boom and it has! It will take some time to recover as well: also an important tip for everybody who goes via the traders is that on should not be greedy. If you have decided that once your share price reaches x amount you will withdraw -then you should. There will be people who will ask you to hold the money as you may get a better price: do not fall for it, have self-control. It may not sound very wise but in the long run you will gain immensely from this advice."

"I would advice you to invest in land as of today"

Property is the best place in Mumbai to put your money as it is always growing, and once you collect small plots of land, they can get easily disposed off when you need liquid money, so land always comes as a safe and handy investment. The main reason why I recommend it highly is because unlike shares and mutual funds there isn't too much of a follow up required and there is little chance of you getting cheated in the bargain: a land or apartment is what you can physically see your money turned into. The other options are paper based.

"I don't invest in jewellery"

I am uncomfortable with the thought of selling it. I don't think any woman likes the thought either! I keep feeling that we have gone very poor that I now have to sell my kangan and my earrings and diamond rings to get money! Hindi films have influenced me too much in this case: so if I am not going to sell them, then it is a dead investment - a block! I believe one invests so that the money grows: both gold and diamonds do not give you amounts more than you have invested.
