What are three differences between the real you and your character Kumkum?

Dear Joanne,
The first difference is that I don't cry as much as she does. Secondly, she is married and I am single. Thirdly, fortunately, I haven't had to suffer any great tragedies like Kumkum.

Which college did you attend and how was campus life?
— Nikhil Jethwa

Dear Nikhil,
I haven't had a college experience since I did my graduation in arts through correspondence, in Jaipur. I have always been inclined towards the arts – I love painting, especially pencil sketching, which I do whenever I have time.

There was a show called Shaheen, on Sony, where you played the title role. What happened to the serial ?

Dear Suman,
Shaheen happened three to four years ago. It had a happy ending, as Shaheen goes back to her husband. The show came to a conclusion and died a natural death.

Why don't you do other shows besides Kumkum? — Sana Abdullah

Dear Sana,
I like to be exclusive and choosy about what I do. Also, date clashes are a major issue, so it isn't easy to take up a new show.

You look so gorgeous in the stylish sarees you wear in Kumkum. Where do you get the sarees and who is your designer?

Dear Shweta,
Thank you so much for the compliment. Ritu Deora designs these sarees. The look is decided collectively by the channel and the creative director for the show.

In a recent Khullja Sim Sim episode, Gurdeep Kohli (Dr Juhi of Sanjivani) said that Juhi is lucky for me. How are you lucky for her?

Dear Amit,
I admire your observation. Yes, Gurdeep did say so. She believes that I am very lucky for her as her Sanjivani character had my name. It is very sweet of her to say that. Both of us actually laugh a lot over this.

How did you feel after getting two Star Parivar awards in one year?
— Sachin Bhalerao

Dear Sachin,
I felt on top of the world. I think I am the only person this year that has got awards in two different categories. I want to thank all my fans for this. I hope I continue the good work and win many more such awards.

Is the character of Sumeet your idea of Mr Right?
— Appu

Dear Appu,
I don't think Sumeet has all the qualities I want in my Mr Right, but he is quite close to the person I would admire. If I add and subtract a few qualities, then maybe he would become the chosen one. Right now he isn't.

One of the actresses in the film Fun2oosh sounds a lot like you. Did you dub for her?

Dear Deo,
I am very impressed – I didn't know someone would recognise my voice in the film. I did dub for the film; I knew one of the producers and it was fun doing it.

If you could choose to play one TV character (other than your own) which would it be and why?
— Anjali

Dear Anjali,
I would like to play the role of Miilee. I think she's a fun character and I love doing comedy. I think Mona (Wasu) is doing a great job. I also enjoyed playing Chanda in Kumkum, as she had some funny shades.

How is your working relationship with co-star Hussain? Are you two dating?
— Reshma

Dear Reshma,
Hussain is a great guy to work with. We have lot of fun working together. He's very co-operative in terms of helping me give my best shot. We are not dating, but are good friends.
