Indian television's best looking doc - Mihir Mishra will be back again in the role he is best known for - a doctor. Well, this time in your favourite afternoon show Kumkum.
Mihir's character will be an integral part of the show and he will be like a member of the Wadhwa family. It will be refreshing to see Mihir Mishra back on television and that too in a role that we all loved him in. Let's know more from the man himself!
Mihir, you are back as a doctor? Have you gotten attached to the white coat?
I think audiences have gotten attached to seeing me in a white coat. I am a neuro-surgeon again, this time in Kumkum. Playing a doctor has almost become my second skin, now!
Did you aspire to be a doctor as a kid, so your dreams are coming through now?
No, I never wanted to be a doctor…. I wanted to be a Air Force pilot or a car racer… I have now landed up playing the role of a doctor!
Tell us about how different Dr Vikram Kapoor (Kumkum) is from Sanjeevni's Dr. Rahul Mehra?
I am again playing a neuro-surgeon. But Vikram is a well-experienced guy, who has just returned from London, he is a family friend to the Wadwa's and will play a central character in the story. Whereas Dr. Rahul Mehra was an upcoming guy who learns to be responsible with time. Vikram is a matured, well-dressed doctor.
How did the Wadwa's welcome you on the first day of shoot?
Amazing! They are the best co stars ever, it's a very warm atmosphere out here! I knew Hussain from before, so that made things more comfortable!
This is the first time a role of a doctor is given to a main stream actor, what is the need for a doctor in the story?
That... You will come to know soon, just keep watching the show. I have shot only for four days, there is something for you to look forward to!
Dr Rahul or Dr Vikram Kapoor, which role is closer to your heart?
Definitely Rahul's role, I played the role for so many years, I gave my best, and I was appreciated for my good job! Vikram is very new.
Nostalgic about Nach Baliye
Who is your favourite jodi in Nach Baliye 2?
It's too early, I watched the whole show on Monday… I understand the anxiety that the jodis go through, Monday's performance was more like an anxiety attack for them. Many of them, as I know were dancing in front of an audience for the very first time. Tina (Hussain's wife), for instance was in front of the camera - competing that too… I think that needs tremendous courage. The tensions and anxieties are too many… I will take a while before I decide on my favourite jodi.
Looking at yesterday's performance, I liked Hussain and Tina, I even like Gurdip and Arjun - I have worked with them, Tanaaz and Bhakthiyaa's performance was energized and good too!
Which episode are you and Maninee hosting?
We will be hosting the third episode where the theme is comedy. We have started practice!
Did things change for you following your participation in Nach Baliye?
Yes, it did. The experience made me aware, the show was all reality - so the anxiety, anger, happiness, good and bad, up and downs were all out there for audiences' view. I swore to myself that I will never to do another reality show; it's too much stress. Hosting the show will bring out many nostalgic memories.
Do you enjoy dancing now, or do you have nightmares with the thought of dancing?
I do dance, I like it too… But I prefer dancing off screen than on screen!
