sorry if any1 already posted this article The look after the leap! | |||||||
Star Plus' afternoon daily, Kumkum is all set to leap of 20 years on 10 April. The BAG Films produced show which has been running successfully for the past three and a half years will take the giant leap in a brand new set, a housefull of new actors and also with a makeover for the first gen!
This is perhaps the only show in recent times that has managed 778 episodes without going on the fast forward mode. Anuradha Prasad, producer BAG films, says, " The characters need to evolve. Its not moving with the trend, but just doing what the story of our show demands." "I have a friend who is 42, and she sports mini skirts and all sorts of western wear. She has her hair streaked and is very well maintained. What I mean to say is that if there is a leap shown, it doesn't mean that one has to go grey! And I will be the same as I am now, only my hairstyle will be new," says an excited Juhi. Her locks, she reminds one of Sharmila Tagore in her Aradhana days.
Same goes with Hussain, who will not witness any changes. "My clothes will be the same and I will not turn grey," is all he says! The leap is very well thought of and is also well calculated to avoid criticisms. Rajesh Joshi (along with his colleague Mitesh will pen the show now) says, " Well, if it's 20 years later, then Vivan will be 26, an ideal and mature man and Gaurav and Chaahat will be six years younger to him, with a proper young adult look." One thing that's impressive is the smart selection of Vivan as Dhruv, Hussain's son. Vivan has certain similarities with his on screen father -- to some extent the voice and his humble nature reminds on of Sumit in his younger days.
Gaurav Khanna, who plays Sharman, the younger son, will be seen in vests and cool outfits, and the same goes with his twin sister Chahat, who will be a young and chirpy girl, seen in stylish apparels. Further, the house has a small garden with seating arrangements. There are a few eye catching paintings too. The walls and the floorings too have been done up differently using earthy colours. There are glasses and bricks used to add to the fine look of the fresh house. It also has certain modish equipments to spruce up the new look! The main punch is still to come, and that is the title track which has been revamped! And this time they managed to rope in the versatile singer Sonu Nigam to sing for them. His melidious voice will surely leave viewers spell bound! |
