Aamir could have gone the Anuj way

The Shwetha Tiwari-Cezanne Khan imbroglio has been stepped up a notch, with both the actors refusing to give further dates for Kasautii. Cezanne Khan has apparently given notice to the serial makers that he will give only 15 days to Balaji for the show. Now that the focus has shifted to the younger generation, Manoj Bohra in particular, maybe this is Czanne's plan for self-preservation. He may be looking for other assignments soon. Shwetha Tiwari, on the other hand has conveyed to the production house that she is planning a vacation in America in the month of June.

How will the serial progress further with two stubborn TV actors refusing to cooperate? Also one fails to understand why Czanne is showing such attitude. Kasautii is his only claim to fame. Is it a classic case of a swollen head or a prime example of one killing the goose that lays the golden eggs?

A amir Ali of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki fame is better known as Nausheen Ali Sardar's ex-boyfriend. It seems that the Kkusum girl was quite keen on Aamir bagging the role of Abhay. But Ekta Kapoor wanted Anuj Saxena in the pivotal role and had her way. That one role helped Anuj gain a strong foothold in the TV industry. Anuj seems to have bagged all the plum roles whereas Aamir has no other option but to continue in the lone serial he has on hand. After Kkusum's success, Aamir lost his girlfriend to Vikas Kalantri. However, not many know that Kkusum is one show where most of the TV stars of today worked once upon a time. The list includes Hiten Tejwani, Tassnim Sheikh, Moonmoon, Manish Goel, Narayani Shastri, Aashish Kaul, Shweta Kawaatra, Manav Gohli…the list goes on. Seems like Aamir narrowly missed the Kkusum bus that would have propelled him to TV stardom!

T abassum, the energetic talk show host of Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan (two decades ago on Doordarshan), is now returning to television. She will be seen in Rajshree Productions latest daily, Pyaar Ke Do Naam, Ek Raadha, Ek Shyaam. The 65-year-old television thespian will be essaying the role of a 75-year-old granny in the serial. From a chulbuli talk show host to a grandmother, things sure have changed for Tabussum. Asha Parekh will also be soon seen on television. She will reprise her role as a television show producer, this time for ETV Gujarati. Asha Parekh had disappeared from the TV scene after the Star Plus serial Kora Kaagaz. Now she will be handling the reins of the show Akhanda Saubhagyavati on ETV. Let us wait and see how these veterans of television adjust to the ever-changing tastes of the Indian audience. Will the young Indian audience accept their comeback? Why the return to television now? We can only hope that the times have not changed too much for the sake of these two veterans.

E kta Kapoor's favourite ploy to generate interest in the sagging plotline of a serial has been duplicated once again in the afternoon daily, Kumkum, Ek Pyaara Sa Bandhan. The serial is all set to zoom into the future with Juhi Parmar and Hussain all set to play grandparents. These actors have agreed to don white wigs or rather two streaks of white in their coiffered heads to play the parts convincingly (!). However, isn't it a big risk on the part of Juhi and Hussain to play grandparents so early in their careers? Perhaps these two actors had no choice in this matter. With just this serial in hand, both these TV artists have no option but to toe the line. So watch this space for more news.
