Anuj plays small time goon in Kumkum

He's going to chew paan, sport a country bumpkin gone nouveau riche look and speak Bambaiya Hindi.

It will probably take a die hard Anuj Saxena fan to take to his new look as Manik in Kumkum Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan as the afternoon Star Plus show takes a twist on Wednesday.

We hear that Anuj, who has been playing a returned-from-obscurity Jatin, will be revealed to be an imposter.

His real name is Manik, who is basically a small town goon, who has spent his life indulging in small time robbery. The story unravels thus - Manik has seen Jatin at a Delhi hospital five years ago, and has been struck by the uncanny physical resemblance between himself and the big time business tycoon.

When Manik gets to know that Jatin Wadhava has died, he starts planning on how he can use the fact to his advantage.

His ultimate aim - the entire Wadhwa empire in his name.

Anuj, who has thus far portrayed suave characters like Abhay Kapoor and then Jatin Wadhava, is an unlikely fit for Manik. Will the actor be able to pull it off?
