Producer Ekta Kapoor and actor Anuj Saxena have been working together for over three years. Anuj has played Abhay in Balaji show Kkusum right from the onset of the show. However, now the duo seems to have fallen out owing to various reasons. Apparently, there was stress between the two right from day one. Anuj, who runs a successful business didn't want Balaji to treat him like just another actor. Probably that's why he quit the show a year after it went on air.
"He'd throw a lot of tantrums," says an insider who was a witness to Anuj's high-handed attitude. Though Saxena was bought back to the show, it was quite evident that he was neither enthusiastic about playing Abhay Kapoor nor was he comfortable in the entire set up. This allegation was proved right when Anuj didn't show up for Ekta Kapoor's Kkusum bash. His absence raised a lot of questions. We asked him the reason for not being there for the party and he said, "I just didn't feel like going for it. I was occupied with Kumkum and my other business meetings."
Rumours about them having problems have been doing rounds for a while now. In fact Anuj's statements in a glossy took them further. What does he feel about his alleged problems with Ekta? "I guess things aren't so bad between us!"
Ekta, on the other hand came up with another reason and said, "I don't know what to say. I never handled Kkusum and it was Nivedita Basu's territory. But, I'm aware of the stress that was happening on the sets. Anuj asked us for a raise twice. The amount he quoted was not justified. We have certain budgets and can't go beyond that." As a consequence, Anuj repeatedly kept disappearing from the show. Last month when Balaji boycotted the party thrown by Sony, Anuj was the only actor from the camp who attended the do. It's loud and clear that idea was to defy his producer's decision.
