In a blast from the past, a lookalike of Kumkum's (Juhi Parmar) first husband, Jatin Wadhwa, is slated to enter the Star Plus afternoon soap, Kumkum — Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan.

Viewers will recall that Anuj Saxena essayed Jatin's character, in this BAG Films show, when the daily began three years ago. It was post his death that Kumkum married Jatin's brother, Sumeet (Hussain).

Looks Like a Lookalike

Jatin's lookalike surfacing in the drama means that Saxena is back in Kumkum after a long hiatus. As Jatin, he had done the initial 40 episodes of the show. According to sources, Jatin's carbon copy will be called Karan Kapoor. His character, it is learnt, will be extremely flamboyant. When asked about his return to Kumkum, all that Saxena would say was, "No comments."

It is learnt that doctor-turned-actor, Saxena, had worked in Kumkum after he began appearing as Abhay in the Balaji daily Kkusum. It began as a cameo initially but later became a full-fledged role. The buzz about the on-screen chemistry of Saxena-Parmar had percolated off-screen as well, during that period.

Post his exit as Abhay from Kkusum, speculation was rife that Saxena would be back on the small screen in another daily, soon.

The fact that he is being brought back in Kumkum makes for an interesting turn in the drama. Like all soaps, there have been numerous upheavals in the main protagonist, Kumkum's life. The reappearance of Jatin on the scene in the form of Karan will add to her dilemma.

Saxena was last seen in Star Plus in the daily Saara Akash, which is now off-air. Besides, Kkusum on Sony, he also featured in Prratima on SaharaOne. On the big screen, Saxena will be seen in Sameer Malkan's thriller, Lips—The Kiss of Death.

The daily's current highpoint is the wedding of Abha (Surbhi Tiwari) to Sumeet (Hussain). Everything seems fine on the surface but the fact is that at the last minute Sumeet will end up marrying Kumkum (Juhi Parmar).
