Like you said, its for both to realise how they messed up their kids lives. They need to fix themselves, unite and then deal with these issues.

They're doing things complicated so they can't just jump to "let's move together asap",better this way. Need a transition period,can meet outside or he can come to see Pragya unexpected way.

It was long overdue that scene,great it happens before revelation. Only reacted the same when they had the murder accusation during that trip. Rest it was very silent&understanding for his character. After all is about choosing between a stranger&his blood,in a life or death situation.

Yeah his support for her is the strangest thing ever. Never made me feel anything. But yeah about time.
