Arjit was born 10 November 1992 in Delhi, India in a joint family. His father is a lawyer and has a elder sister. Arjit grew up and did his schooling in Delhi where his higher education was completed at University of Delhi.He is a BA graduate in programming, after he sifted from Delhi to Mumbai.

Arjit Taneja's debut :-

After completed his college education he start his career as a model with modelling agency Elite Model Management India Pvt. Ltd. He has done many modelling assignment and also seen in MTV Splitsvilla Season 6.

After participated in TV show Splitsvilla he was later got interested in acting and later started to give audition. He was later selected as actor in daily soap The Serial from where he was started to recognized. He was later seen as actor in daily soap like Bade Acche Lagte Hain and Kumkum Bhagya as Mrunal Thakur's (bulbul's) love interest . He also did some serials Pyar ko ho jaane do as Bilal Khan and now currenly hosting a show Pyar tune kya kiya .

Apart of being actor he is also seen as cricketer in sports reality show Box Cricket League.

Arjit Taneja played the role of Purab who is the best friend of Abhi (Shabbir Ahluwalia) and love interest of Bulbul (Mrunal Thakur) He was the second male lead of the show . Fans loved the romance between Purab and Bulbul and named them RABUL . They both just stole the show in their acting and Mrunal and Arjit are onscreen lovers and offscreen friends !..Lets see some of the fans edits of Rabul !

Arjit's kumkum bhagya gave him a very big hit . People started to like positive and supportive character to the leads . But soon Arjit decided to exit the show as in the his character is losing it's importance . He did his last shoot on 21st september 2016 . He said in his instagram account "

I don't have words to express how much I will miss each and everyone of you. You all have been my family since almost 3 years and have literally taken care of me like a kid and even spoilt me to an extent ;-) I've actually grown up in these 3 years and learnt so much from everyone, I feel I'm passing out of school and going to college! It was really tough to let go of this show but I had to move on and I can go on and on and on about all of it So THANKYOU guys ?? and I can proudly say it really is the best team Everrr and the production house too! , I LOVE YOU KUMKUMBHAGYA!
