DRABBLE: ABHI'S MEMORY LOSS

Abhi wakes up in the hospital bed and sees people surrounding him.

Daadi sits besides him.

D: Beta, I know you will be fine. God will not fail my prayers.

Abhi looks at her without any expression.

D: sab kuchh theek ho jaega, beta

Abhi takes the glass of water besides him and sips

M: Thank god. You are fine. I thought you will be in ICU or go to coma.

He spits the water in shock.

D: Chup kar. Don't talk rubbish

D: Where is my bahu?

M: I am here Daadi.

D: I am not asking you.

Pragya comes in with prasad from Mandir. Pragya is happy to see Abhi conscious.

R: How are you feeling Abhi?

A: I am good. *hesitates* But who are you?

Everyone shocked. Pragya in tears. Purab comes and asks everyone to come outside. He tells what the doctor told him. He tells them that Abhi has lost his memory. Daadi tries to console Pragya. She tells her to believe in her kumkum. Daadi and Pragya enter Abhi's room. She tells Abhi would listen to her.

D: Beta, you may not remember everyone here. *pulls Pragya near* She is your wife.

Pragya wipes her tears. Everyone come inside.

Daadi introduces everyone to Abhi. Abhi gives everyone a blank look and remains silent.

D: Why are you silent? Talk something. You won't believe this Daadi?

A: Pragya *pulls Pragya closer so that he could whisper in her ears* Who is this old lady? Who are these people?
