Why should Abhi believe in prayer?
It's not a crime to not believe in God. It's not a crime to say God does not exist or helps people. There are hundreds of innocents who die every day, who suffer every day. God does not help them. Then believers argue about "karma" and other abstract things.
Abhi's parents died at a young age. Why did God kill those parents of two innocent young babies? No good has to go through such bad thing if God is supposed to be fair and kind. And even bad people were created by God or guided wrongly by God.
And how does Abhi know his wish got fulfilled? He didn't know Pragya was dead (or in death condition) and came back because of his prayer/MS. If he was told that, he might have believed. May be even Pragya does not know he prayed and that made her come back life. I could even argue that it was not because of Abhi's MS she came back to life.. she just had a pause of her system and it came back after a bit. There are evidence of clinical death declaration and people coming back to life. It's just that we don't understand life and death completely.
If you are a believer, you might not get Abhi's school of thought. But you might like to know there are many schools of thought than believing in God. There are many explanations to existence and non existence of God. None of them are 100% convincing. It's all about what you believe in and what convinces you depending on circumstances. This does not make other people who think different "dhakkan" (Abhi in this case).
