Tannu never wanted to really tell Abhi about pregnnacy and do this drama I think. Pragya took her pregnancy more seriously and supported her! So she found this golden chance to take Pragya out of Abhi's life that way. She would have aborted otherwise given she never wanted to be with Nikhil and didn't mean to cheat on Abhi.
God I was so mad when Pragya decided to not tell Abhi because the mother should have the right/happiness to tell the father!!

Remember she never told Abhi or planning to tell him. All she wanted was Pragya out. He found out on his own. She somehow guessed it right that Pragya will not tell Abhi about it! Pragya never was gonna do it anyway. Even now Tannu survived this long only because Pragya is secretive with Abhi!
