meh, i think people tune in for story. an appealing actor or a fresh look will get someone to try out a show, but to keep them watching over time? something beyond that is what hooks people. not to say the story has to be good or make a lot of sense, but it's why people watch tv.

I don't know if only story works, there have been many tv shows which were content driven but did not work because they did not have enough drama. More than story people need to connect with the character, the sorrows of the female lead and her fight against the evil.

that is basically what i meant by story...people tune in to see what's happening, to enjoy the drama and be shocked by the twists. nothing much is happening on kkb but i suppose just enough is being hinted to keep people feeling connected as you said.

i think many people thought aliya would get caught and expected some big drama, thus a jump.CVS played it quite well.

I guess I am one of the TRP audience now because I don't hate the track, I am ALMOST lovin it! 😆

I think as an audience, we tend to forget what we saw fairly quickly- I hated the MMS and Tanu-Pragya team-up, they were by far the worst. Watching them was torture, this by far is a breeze.

Ekta knows her core audience well, she hardly ever gets couples together and I agree we are very blessed to see them in the same room and scenes together.

We will see Abhigya happiness in between major drama, this is the way shows manage to run for a long time, they will NEVER show extended periods of any couple's happiness or being together. This is a given.

Knowing all this, don't give yourselves headaches, it really isn't worth it. This is a lambi race ka ghoda, there will be times tracks drag, it needs to for the show to run 5-7 years.

I tend to enjoy it because I just watch every episode day to day, for what it is and though silly, it isn't unbearable. I'll say it again, CVs are not considering new Pragya track as part of Tanu pregnancy track, they shifted gears in between.

No that's not true. Its not necessary that shows with better storylines or quality of writing get more TRPs.

Prani, at 9 pm slot there is just another show which is getting good trps, that too recently because of some atomic bomb terrorist drama, it used be a numero uno show for couple of years but kkb took its position. If the ratings are this good, then comic scenes intermingled with some drama works for kkb. Personally i think they can tone down the comedy a bit and cut down on unnecessary scenes otherwise the track is ok. Atleast not much rhona dhona.

Agree Deefan, this track is good compared to what ekta has been showing us in the past. It could improve but atleast it is not unbearable . I don't ship abhigya so i am ok with their separation , rabul toh i know may never get married in the show but the behaviour of the characters does irritate me some times , but still not that much.

hailaaa neha...i remember being one of those at the beginning of KKB who thought it could never best the-other-9pm-show, which had been slot leader for so long...and to realize now that we've regularly displaced them and they've had to clawback...EEEPSS!!


and yes, absolutely, KKB's unique formula involves its more comedic tone. it's never been drama-heavy like other serials. and it's weird that that works, because drama-heavy is the standard for a reason - people tune in for it. but anyway bless kkb and here's hoping that cv's keep defying us with their tricks and doing better despite our impatience ;)
