Abhigya SS - A Connection ALL UPD PAGE 1 AND ALTERNATE END PG 2

Hi guys! Back with something very different! Won't say much but please read!

Abhigya SS - A Connection

Abhi walked along the pathway lost in thoughts, just genuine thoughts about his life. What he had been and what he had become. Life had given him a lot, he was successful but he had no one to love, no family at all. No one to talk to, no one to share his joy or sorrow with.

He sighed as he continued to walk when his eyes fell on a petite girl crossing the road, her hair fell in bouncy curls and she was wearing a red kameez. Abhi saw that there was a car driving at high speed towards her but she wasn't aware, she wasn't moving. Abhi ran quickly and managed to pull her back just in time as the car screeched past them.

Abhi felt her arms hold onto him tightly as she screamed in fear. Abhi comforted her before gently facing her.

"Hey, are you okay? You should look where you are going!"

"I - I'm fine. Thank you very much" She said looking not directly at him. "I wish I could see where I was going" She murmured quietly.

"Wait? What do you mean?" Abhi asked confused.

"Umm actually I'm blind, I can't see" She laughed.

Abhi watched her stunned. She was so pretty, her plump lips, her long hair, her smile. Abhi felt horrible.

"I'm sorry" He spoke quietly. "But you should be careful, aren't you here with anyone?"

"Yeah I was with my friend, she left just now, I told her I would be fine, she was busy anyway. I had the cane but I dropped it and I was trying to pick it up but I couldn't"

"Oh" Abhi's eyes fell on the guiding cane on the floor beside them and gently handed it to her. "If you want I can drop you home, it would be my pleasure"

"Please no, I don't want to trouble you! My house is near by"

"It's fine, my house is close too, I will drop you on the way"

"Thank you" Pragya told him as she got out and he helped her to the door.

She had the door opened to her friend and was about to enter when she turned back and asked him "Hey, thank you, but what's you name?"

"Abhi, Abhi Mehra, yours?"

"Pragya, Pragya Arora"

"Nice name, bye see you soon!"

"See you soon?"

"Yes I would love to meet you tomorrow if possible?"

"Sure, bye! Thanks once again"

"Don't say thanks, it was my duty"

Abhi smiled as she walked in with her friend. He didn't know what it was but there was some connection he had with her.

Okay so that was it, should I continue?

Part 2

Abhi rushed towards Pragya as he watched her walking through the door. He led her to his table and helped her sit down.

"Hi, so how are you?"

"I'm fine I guess"

Abhi ordered two coffee's for them and soon they began to chat. Abhi loved her company, she was a very lively person to be with.

"So what do you do?" Abhi asked her.

"Well, I am studying psychology, what about you?"

"I compose music, just finishing my final year at uni, what about your parents?"

"I'm an orphan, and being blind isn't much help I guess" she laughed.

Abhi watched her stunned once again. She had gone through a lot, but she accepted life so easily? Abhi had an admiration for her.

"Your parents?" She asked.

"Umm, they passed away when I was young, I don't have anyone either" Abhi spoke.

"I'm sorry"

"Don't be, we can't change anything can we?"

Pragya nodded.

"You know, you are very pretty, I love your approach towards life and admire you for it" Abhi told her.

"I'll take your word for it, don't lie though!" She laughed.

Abhi watched her as she ate her lunch and he would help her every now and then. He realised then that he needed her in his life. In such a short time of space her seemed as if he had become so deeply attached to her that he didn't want to let her go.

Months passed and Abhi and Pragya had grown very close together. Abhi had asked her out to a date and had arrived at her house early to help her get ready. He had brought a gift along with him.

As he entered, he greeted her friend and went to her room quickly.

"Hey Pragya, you ready?" He asked.

"I was about to get changed, why?" She called.

Abhi entered the room to see her getting up when she tripped. He caught her before she could touch the floor as she hugged him tightly.

"Thanks" she gasped.

"It's okay, look I brought something for you." He handed the box to, opening it for her.

Pragya touched the cloth asking what the soft material was.

"It's a red saree with silver bordering, your gonna look amazing in it!"

"Wow! Thank you, but it's difficult to put it on and she's just gone out" referring to her friend as she sat down upset.

"Arre, so what, I'm here na! I'll help!"

"What?" She asked in disbelief.

"Why? I mean come on, I can do this! I won't look, I can try to help na?" Abhi asked.

"Okay, but close your eyes!" Pragya told him.

"Okay baba!"

Pragya got changed, it was just draping the saree around her waist that was the problem. She called him in and he hurried in. He followed her instructions as she told him what to do. She blushed as she felt his hands brush against her waist every now and then. It took some time but by he end Pragya was ready and Abhi was more than satisfied with how she looked. He couldn't wait to spend the rest of the night with her.

Part 3 -

"Thank you so much for this amazing night Abhi" she thanked him.

"Right, one last time, never thank me again! It makes me feel like a stranger"

"Okay fine!"

"So you liked the dinner?" He asked.

"Yes thanks, I've never had a night out like this before."

"Okay, before I drop you home, can we go to the park?"

"Yeah, in fact I was going to ask the same"

Abhi opened the door for her and held her hand as he guided her over the path. He led onto the grass bare feet and they sat against the trunk of the tree.

Pragya squeezed onto his hand and hugged him.

"Thank you for this"

"Pragya! I said na no thank you!"

"I know Abhi but I really want to say something"

"Go ahead."

She lay her head in his lap looking up at him.

"I can't see you, I never have seen anything. My life has always been looming over me like a never ending dark tunnel that only seemed to get darker. But you know, you are one person who makes me feel like I don't have this disability, you make me feel like I am the same as everyone." She paused while Abhi caressed her hair. "I never had anyone to talk to, no one to share anything with, I felt like a burden to everyone, like I don't belong. But with you, it's something different, Abhi, you make me feel so complete. I never got the love of my parents, they didn't want me, and I felt like I wasn't wanted all my life. But things changed the day I met you, they changed a lot so thank you for this" she stared up at his face and for a moment Abhi felt something click into place. He thought he saw something in her eyes, a desire? Desire to see him?

"Pragya, don't ever think you are a burden on anyone, you mean a lot to me, that's all that matters" He placed a kiss on her head and they stayed like that for a few moments.

That night after Abhi dropped her home and shut the door her felt lonely and empty. He didn't want to leave her alone inside. But then she had insisted she would be fine. Abhi sighed as he drove back home.

Abhi tossed and turned many times in he bed. He wanted her to see the world. He had never felt like this for someone before, was it love? Abhi thought about what he could do.

His Daadi had always taught him that helping others was a help to themselves. Abhi sighed, he knew what he could do and he decided he would go the hospital the very next day itself.

Part 4 -

"Are you sure?" The doctor asked in disbelief.

"Yes, I want you to use my eyes to bring hers back"

"But this doesn't happen, we only use this cornea transplant when the donor gives consent to do so after they pass away, why do you want to now?"

"I have a terminal illness doctor that too of last stage, no law says I cannot do this, this is my final decision, I will sign on any papers needed, I want to go ahead with this, why don't you understand?"

There was silence.

"Okay, fine, if you wish to do so."

Abhi exited the hospital, he didn't know if what he was going to do was fair on her, but it was better to know that he would die knowing she was able to see and live life like she wanted than leave knowing she would be the one left behind with nothing at all.

The doctor unwrapped the clothing around Pragya's eyes as she gripped tightly onto the bed sheet. She was going to be able to see again, she would be able to see Abhi! He had told her about the operation, he had led her to the hospital and had wished her well. She waited patiently and as the doctor finished she slowly opened her eyes. The sudden light made her squint but she couldn't believe it, she could see! She looked around for Abhi, she had never seen him but apart from the doctor there was no one.

"Doctor, where is he?" She asked.

He said nothing and gently placed a letter in her hand before leaving quietly.

Pragya looked at it in confusion before opening it to read -

Pragya, it's me Abhi. I know I should have told you before but then you would have stopped me. It was me that donated the eyes. I am sorry, I know you will hate me for this, I am sorry once again. I want to see you but I won't come back because I don't want to be your weakness. I don't know if what I did was right or wrong but I did this for you, because I wanted you to see. Please don't cry, just think that I am always with you, that what you see is with me. Please don't hate me because I love you more than anything. Go live your life and be free.

Pragya wiped her tears as she clasped the letter to her chest. 'Why did you do this Abhi why? What use is this sight, when you are not with me?' Pragya wept as she tucked the letter next to her. She was discharged soon and had gone back to her life, but something was missing and she knew very well what it was.

It was evening and Pragya leant on the wall, staring out into the distant sea waves. She wiped her tear as he closed her eyes. She missed him. This was the same road where he had once helped her.

He walked across the pathway near the beach, his life was dark but it didn't matter, it grew darker each day, it would end sooner anyway. But her whole life was ahead of her and he smiled every time he thought about her, he hoped she would be doing well as he continued to walk pass the petite girl leaning on the wall that he couldn't see and when she turned to look at the figure in the distance walking away she didn't recognise because she had never seen him.

They felt as if something had clicked into place for a moment but it was a connection that didn't complete...

Alternate part 4 -

Pragya opened her eyes to see him looking at her with a smile.

"Abhi!" she squealed as he sat next to her.

"Pragya!" He hugged her to his chest.

"Abhi!" She tightened her hands around him as the doctor smiled.

Pragya couldn't stop laughing and crying the same. She was so happy to see him.

"I can't believe it! I can see!" She laughed.

"Yes you can!" Abhi smiled at her.

"You look just like I had imagined! I still can't believe it though!"

"Yes you can see! You have to believe it!"

He bent on his knee with the ring in his hand. "Will you marry me?" He asked.

"Yes! Yes I will!" She smiled at him. Abhi wiped her tears before crushing her into his embrace.

"I love you"

"I love you too" Abhi hugged her tighter.

Where had they started, and what they had become. They couldn't ask for anything more, they had their whole world in their arms.

darling i was so happy when i saw your message
so i absolutely loved it it"s fresh and different
Pragya can't see their love story is pure and innocent
you added cute scene like the saree moment really nice
then Abhi wanted to help Pragya so he sacrificed that was really sad plus i didn't know we could donate our eyes. It was a sad ending
but i am always for the happy endings you know me even if the sad one was really well written

First alternative ending, was this inspired from the song ki samjhaiye ft amrinder gill?!...i like the whole dynamic and ofcourse the happy ending always is the soothing one...thank you for the alternative ending...
