was that really necessary CVs 🤢

i know my mother believes this idea...i guess it's big with your core audience? but, ugh. here you are building a lovestory with today's day and age characters, and you have to go throw in that old line.

yes, pragya is traditional. still, that scene would've been just as strong if her main reason for not wanting to marry again was not wanting to be unfair to her future husband when she's already given her heart to abhi. she didn't need the additional reason of "marriage happens only once." newsflash - not the case. just look at the supposed tabhi marriage pragya is trying to facilitate.

also, people marry for reasons other than love, so maybe you were covering your bases with that line.

whatever. i didn't like it. šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼

Many people still believe in that. Marriage is for life is something most people want to believe when they enter matrimony.
Off course there may be unfortunate circumstances which terminates marriages. But the remarriage rate of divorced girls in India is still pretty low.It is a fact.

The dialogue is lifted from KKHH 😳 , so I don't think CVS came up with anything original.

Very good point. Pragya informing Abhi and the rest of us that it's different for girls. I did need the reminder, thank you.

And no, of course none of it is original šŸ˜†

What about Abhi's marriage? What's Pragya's say on his second marriage that is supposed to happen? Why does she think the marriage is once only for her?

Firstly, that line is a famous dialogue from the SRK-Kajol starer Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Probably, it's the dialogue writers favorite line and s/he wanted to incorporate it somehow šŸ˜•.

Secondly, THIS is exactly why I think she said that line!! She won't ever get over Abhi.

She never believed in love and the way her marriage to Abhi has turned out to be, the woman has lost faith in the institution.

Failed marriages do leave people with a mindset that they don't want to indulge themselves into such a relationship anymore. They lose faith. They don't want to marry someone out of the blue just because the 'society' wants them to. They need space. They need time.

Stuff such as 'shaadi nahi karogi toh akeli reh jaogi' / 'shaadi nahi hoge toh bache kaise honge' / 'no shaadi no physical relationship'...all these cliched excuses to get married...people with a bad first-hand experience with the institution of marriage...they need a break from all this stuff!!!!

Like DON is saying, I think it's not meant for "marriage" as such, but more that she would love Abhi for the rest of her life, no point in marrying someone else.
Anyways, I didn't like that she shared this with him, this way. It somewhere calls for sympathy..Not something I would say in her situation. I would have just said, I will take my life as it comes, you do the same.

Because she has been made to believe that Abhi has always loved Tanu. Which doesn't stand true now. But Abhi hasn't made her aware of that.

According to Pragya, Abhi always wanted Tanu as his wife and now with her being pregnant with his child (supposedly/hypothetically)...Abhi is bound to get married for the second time.

Whereas, Pragya has no such obligation.

Sympathy? Hows that?

I don't think it was sympathetic. It was more to drive a stake through Abhi's heart to make him realize what his 'I-want-to-destroy/-her-life' marriage has done to her.

And they hardly share what is in their heart. Because of which they have 101 problems. It was kind of good she shared this with him. They both know that going separate ways won't be as easy for them as they think.
