PART FOUR"Pragya..is your room clean ? What about the clothes in the balcony? Did you put them in your cupboard ?"
"Ma"
"Pragya come taste this and tell me if salt is okay na."
"Ma"
"Call papa and ask him when he is coming"
"Maaa! Stop ! Come here and sit down .. Why are you running around worrying about all this ? Yes the clothes are in my cupboard,I already tasted that and namak is perfect and yes papa is on his way. It's just Manav and Neetu aunty ma! They have been to this very house N number of times.."
"You are right Bachi.. Just that we are going to meet them after long na ..also Manav beta is coming to India after so long ..so I just wanted everything to be right"
"Everything is right..you go change they will be here in sometime "
"Okay Pragya I will be back",Sarla says and pinches her darling daughter's cheek,kisses her and goes in.
The doorbell rings and Pragya opens it to find her childhood bestie and her favorite aunty there.
"Manav!"
"Pragya!" , they call simultaneously and hug each other.
"Tu tho abhi bhi wahi Pragya hai..no change absolutely "
"Right back at you. Mr Geek has a rimless glass now instead of the thick framed ones ,otherwise you haven't changed one bit"
Pragya then hugs Neetu and asks them to come in.
Sarla comes and greets the mom son duo.
"Sarla auntyyy! I missed you and your delicious gobi parathas!" , Manav says and hugs Sarla.."uncle kahan hai?"
"Manav beta..kaisa hai tu?..and gobi parathas are waiting for you right there ..uncle is on his way "
"Omg aunty ,always the best ",he says and Pragya grins at him and is happy that Sarla has finally calmed down.
"Pragya,this is for you", he says and hands her a Gucci bag and a Tommy Hilfiger perfume.
"You didn't have to get these Manav!"
"I had to Pragya! I am meeting you after so long. Just tell me if you like them or not"
"I love them thank you" ,she says with a broad smile..
The foursome then get talking about life in London and what he has been upto all these years and are joined by Mr Arora in a while ..
"Sorry guys, bad traffic!..How are you Neetu ji? How's Ankit Saab?"
"I am very good Ji. He is good too..he wanted to join us today but a meeting got rescheduled in the last minute and he couldn't avoid it..He asked me to convey his apologies"
"Arey koi baath nahi! We will meet up some weekend when everyone is free..Manav beta is here for sometime na"
Manav takes his blessings and says he is here for two months..Mr Arora then excuses himself to freshen up and all of them get ready for Sarla's mouthwatering dinner..
Manav and Neetu can't stop praising Sarla and he tells her how much he is reminded of his childhood when he used to come over to study or play and Sarla used to make him have dinner with them..
Everyone shares incidents from the kids' childhood and they have a memorable dinner..
"Pragya are you free now ? We have a lot of catching up to do!"
" I haven't received any calls from the hospital so yes I am ..where do you want to go?"
"A walk in our park?"
"Just like old times! Let's do it buddy", she says ,grinning like a child and getting her car keys to drive till the park.
The parents bid them goodbye and Neetu asks Manav to come home directly as she will leave from here in a while.
The park brought back all awesome memories..their numerous tennis matches, study sessions, gossip times etc..
"So what's up with you Doc? How's it going in London? Any girl I should know about ?"
"Haha London is cool Pragya.. The medical entrance was damn tough but once I got in its extremely interesting and challenging..I am loving it there! And girls , well, it won't be fair to ask you to remember a lot of names right ?"
"A lot? Dude!"
"Kidding man.. Haven't found 'The One' yet..dated few people in the past but it was just for few weeks or so .. It just didn't work out"
"Phew better..and nice , London does seem good.. Learnt to cook?"
"Well , the first few attempts had bad consequences and I had to replace some of the containers in the kitchen 😆..gradual improved happened and I can manage pretty well now..also there are Indian restaurants and one of my very close friends is a Punjabi and his family stays there, so"
"Haha awesome..how's the jet lag?"
"It's gonna be there for a couple more days for sure..okay now about you..how's work ? Any guy I should know about ?"
"Work is amazing.. I go to rural parts of the country on and off on medical camps and stay for a week and help people there..the satisfaction I get out of it is enormous ..and guess what ? In one such camp ,like last month , I had to treat The Abhishek Mehra"
"The rockstar ? Man his songs are famous.. Remember the Punjabi friend I mentioned ? His sister is his big fan ! So why was he there ?"
Pragya told Manav about how she saw him in a bad state and how later he told her about being attacked on the highway..
"Oh no poor guy! How's he now ?"
"He is fine now .. His dadi had come all the way to the camp when she heard he was there.. They share an amazing bond :)"
"So I take it that the guy in your life is Abhishek Mehra?"
"Eh what? I was talking about work and this came up.Abhi is very good friend and he even wanted to meet you when I told him you were coming to India .."
"Wow really ? That's nice of him..but I haven't heard his songs much..it won't look good no.."
"I can make you listen to them.. I have the CD's of all his albums"
"Ahem a very big fan I see..okay I will borrow them "
"Awesome ! And we can meet him next week sometime,I will check with him his availability"
"Cool "
They then continue chatting for some more time and Manav goes home after getting the CD's from Pragya..

[10:35 pm] oh yes I am. Purab is my childhood bestie and he is more my brother than a friend..When I lost my parents in an accident he was the one who was there for Dadi and me throughout..he is an architect in Delhi"
Pragya feels bad and her eyes tear up when she reads the part about his parents .. She is thinking about how hard it must've been for dadi and him when she gets a "Pragya ? Guess you slept, Goodnight doc" from Abhi.
[10:40 pm] No Abhi ,awake only .. Sorry to have reminded you about your parents .. Glad you had Purab to support you that time
[10:41 pm] Yes , you should meet him.. He is the best ! And it's okay..I only told na,you didn't ask anything..Anyway,Dadi and I always believe that Ma and Pa are with us in whatever we do
