1. He doesnt want her out of Dadi's life and Dadi matters to him...but he wants different. He wants Tanu and as he put it during lohri Pragya will get him out of every problem...and she will; she'll probably leave him for him to marry Tanu(I still think this will happen)

2. He might be saying it to make her want to fight...It is hard to fight for someone who has given up...which she has...
