Abhi Oh Abhi!- The arrogant yet adorable rockstar!

Love him or hate him, it's hard to ignore him.

He is mostly clueless yet can be the smartest.

He often chooses to not believe in the obvious but he also can do the right thing at the right time.

He will do anything for the ones he loves, and logic can't get into his head when his heart is working.

The only person who can convince Abhi of something is himself.

Things do work out in favour of Abhi in the end, but not before he goes through frustration, confusion, denial and realizations. He drives everyone crazy before going crazy himself.

Like Daadi says, he has a good heart, but it needs to be understood.

So, it's fun to explore this character, and here is a series of drabbles (or conversations) of Abhi with himself.

So it's all about Abhi and his voice!

A: I can't tell Tannu that we shouldn't be marrying now, she has it all planned.

V: Okay, when do you want to marry her?

A: I don't know.

V: Hmm..

A: I can't tell Pragya that Tannu is arranging my wedding with her. I just can't.

V: Why?

A: I don't know.

V: But what do you want?

A: I don't know.

A: I have decided, I will tell Fuggy the truth. I will tell her that the clients are my wannabe in laws.

V: And then?

A: See that's what worries me.

V: What worries you?

A: What will happen after I tell? My Daadi will hate me, Fuggy's family will hate me.

V: Will Fuggy hate you too?

A: No, she won't. She is too nice to hate me...But...

V: But.. what?

A: She will be sad, it will break her heart.

V: Heart, how come you have that power to break her heart? Do you own it?

A: Now, what does that mean?

A: I feel something..

V: What do you feel?

A: I don't know.. but I know it's for whom..

V: Whom?

A: Who else, Fuggy..

V: Oh your wife.. what is it? Anger?

A: No No No!! It's not anger.. it's something very nice..

V: Like something that makes you feel happy..

A: Yes, very happy, and nervous.. actually I can't even describe it..

V: Hmm, people call it love..You might be in love..

A: Nah- It can't be love.

V: How do you know?

A: Because I have loved so many girls before.. that girl who came first in high school, that actress, that producer's daughter.. Tannu... I loved all of them.. but what I feel for Fuggy is not that.. It's so different..unbelievable... so good.. you know.. I feel... Damn, I just can't tell you how I feel.

A: I am confused.

V: Why, what happened?

A: Can you answer my questions?

V: Ask, I will try.

A: What is a wife?

V: A woman you are married to.

A: And what is a girlfriend?

V: A female friend with whom you have romantic relationships.

A: Can a girlfriend make a wife?

V: Depends, if the girlfriend is ready to put up with you more or less 24/7 in your good and bad moods, understands you and supports you when life throws its worst at you... yes, a girlfriend can be a wife.

A: Like Fuggy does?

V: Right!

A: Fuggy IS my wife.

V: I think so too.

A: And Fuggy understands me, cheers me up when I am in a bad mood, helps me out when I am in a problem.

V: Right.

A: Fuggy also loves my Daadi like I do, and even likes to have roadside chai..

V: Really? That's nice.

A: Unlike Tannu...

V: Oh Well...

A: See that's the problem. I love Tannu, right? And Tannu loves me.

V: You think so..?

A: That's what I thought. But Fuggy does so much for me although she does not love me and I don't love her.

V: Hmm...

A: See, this is why I am confused.

A: Hey, Hello, where are you? Please appear soon. I have to talk to you.

V: Are you calling for me?

A: Yes! Oh so glad you came.

V: What's up?

A: I have to tell you what happened today.

V: Yes, please.

A: So, today when I went to my room, Fuggy was standing on the table, trying to reach out for something in the topmost shelf.

V: Okay.

A: And because I suddenly came in, she was taken aback and slipped.

V: And you caught her, the same old story.

A: No, it's not, well, yes, I saw that she was about to fall and rushed to save her. But you know she fell on me!

V: And she crushed you?

A: I thought that's what she wanted to do, but something else happened.

V: Okay, what happened?

A: Actually, it was me who got imbalanced too and fell on the floor and she fell right on top of me.

V: Oh!

A: And her lips landed right on my lips.

V: O-o! What did you do? Accuse her of trying to make use of the opportunity and kiss you?

A: No! That's not what happened. I kissed her.

V: You kissed Fuggy, Chashmish? Your wife?

A: I don't even know if I would call it a kiss. I mean just a kiss. When her lips were on mine, I felt otherworldly. Her lips were so soft and angelic. I just closed my eyes and felt myself being rejuvenated, as if I was free. I wanted to hold on to that feel forever. But that's when I moved my lips and her lips trembled and I held her head and kissed her for the longest time.

V: Oh, Em, Gee!! And then?

A: Someone knocked and she got up. And she said sorry for falling on me and that this should not have happened.

V: Oh No!

A: But the thing is, I didn't regret it. I still don't. That's the most beautiful thing I have ever felt. But, I have a girlfriend, do you think I cheated on her?

V: I think you are cheating on yourself.

A: What does that mean? You always talk in circles.

A: This is boggling me. It's unbelievable.

V: What is it?

A: You know this Bulbul, Fuggy's sister...

V: Oh that pretty girl..

A: Even you find her pretty?

V: She is. Why?

A: I can't believe I am the only man on this earth who isn't charmed by her. Every other man is crazy about her. First Purab, then, that double battery and now I learn even that saala corporator..

V: But why are you worried? You wanted to be in love with her too, kya?

A: No, it's not like that, I am just amazed. And look at Fuggy, people are crazy about her too, in a different way. My Daadi, Daasis.. our housekeepers.. and even Popo.. and can you believe Aaliyah.. Aaliyah is also fidaa over her now! And I just don't get why... I just don't feel the same.

V: Well, you have different tastes..

A: See that's what is bothering me. I like Tannu, right? But I read in KB forum that even Robin wouldn't want to date her..

V: No comments.

A: Don't do that to me, at least you.

V: Aww, don't worry, everyone loves you.

A: You are just trying to cheer me up.

V: No, it's true..Daadi, Daasis, Sarla Maa, Ro Daadi...*Tannu*... Robin, Bahadur, Ramu Kaka... and Bulbul, she is your crazy fan...and even Fuggy is fidaa over you..

A: Really?

V: Sachhchi... And I love you too.

A: Well, I am the rockstar!

A: Hi

V: Hey! What's up? Why do you look so upset?

A: You wanna know? Read this letter.

V: Ooo! Why did you make me read this? It's for you. It's a "love" letter.

A: How can this be for me?

V: It has your name on it!

A: I know, but I am talking about the content.

V: Now that I have read it... So, your wife loves you.

A: That's the thing! How on FRICKIN earth can she love me?

V: Why, does she need to pay to love you?

A: Don't you get it? She can't be in love with me.

V: I don't get it. Care to explain?

A: I married her to hate her. I hated her. I have an affair. Let alone being a husband, I have been my worst with her.

V: So?

A: How can she love me? She should be hating me. That's what I imagined all this while.

V: Love doesn't work like that.

A: It works like that only. Imagine I do something that Tannu does not like. Even if it is unknowingly, do you know how much she gets upset with me? And this Fuggy, she loves me while I was on a mission to destroy her life?

V: Love is not about hate. Love is not about grudges. It's all about giving and forgiving. Love is found within one's self. It's born within one's heart irrespective of what the other person thinks of you. Whether you hate her or love her, she will love you. And you can't control that.

A: That just kills me. That's not fair.

V: Well, nothing is fair in love and war.

A: Hey, I will miss her, yaar!

V: I know you are talking about Fuggy again.

A: Yes. If I marry Tannu, she will leave this house. But I will miss her.

V: What will you miss the most about her?

A: Alright. See there is nothing I can categorize as missing the most and the least. There is a bunch of stuff.

V: And they are...

A: The way she wakes up in the morning "uthiye, uthiye", you know invariably at 7 am. Even if I have slept at 4 am, she still wakes me up. It's ages since I used my alarm clock.

V: So you will need to start using your alarm clock again.

A: I will miss her playing bhajans exactly when I have to work out..

V: Hahaaa...must be fun working out on devotional music!

A: And she brings coffee that she makes exactly how I like, and breakfast.. she never lets me leave for work without eating.

V: You will have Robin serve you breakfast after she leaves..

A: Yeah, and then the way she comes up with lyrics for my songs...

V: Hmm...

A: And the way she argues with me.. for every little thing.. see, there is never an agreement between us.

V: You are saying you will miss arguing with her...

A:Of course... and I will miss her chashma.. I just like taking it off and wearing it and putting it back on her..

V: Err..What?

A: That and her nose, you know. There is a button on it for her mouth..turn it off, she stops talking, turn it back on she stats talking...

V: What even?

A: You won't understand.. Oh and then, the way she keeps ranting her philosophies.. I don't necessarily believe in any of that, but I love to hear her lecturing..

V: Hahaa..

A: And my room will become black and white.. her colorful chatris will be gone..

V: You mean her dresses?

A: Yep. And her giving me champi, feeding me yucky herbal medicines..

V: Hmm...

A: The way she keeps tripping, falling.. and makes me hold her..

V: Okay..

A: And her giving me her dupatta to clean my face if she can't find a towel..

V: Hm..

A: And the way she covers herself with her dupatta if I ever see her without it.. I don't even know what she tries to hide... Hey, are you dozing off?

V: Oh, sorry.. Ermm your list is way too long..

A: And I am not even half way through...

V: Okay, please I will come back after a nap...

A: Okay...

A: Where the hell is my Fuggy?

V: Oye! Hands off of my collar, how would I know?

A: Please help me. The police can't find her. There is not even a single clue.

V: You always wanted her out of your life. Be happy now.

A: How can you be so cruel? Have you thought what she must be going through? What if her life is in danger?

V: You know honestly I am worried about my life, my collar, to be precise. You are so strong that you can just choke me.

A: What are you talking about?

V: Well, even if you find her now, you will send her off in near future wanting to replace her with Tannu. And then, the very night you will be missing her, imagining her everywhere, going "Where the hell is my Fuggy" and break my head again. Please yaar. It's getting boring.

A: Are you nuts? Just get out of my sight and let me find my Fuggy.
