Helloji Hi-ji! I understand that I wrote an entirely hopeless and boring OS earlier today but bear with me as I start another story đ Now, I have been a romantic all my life but my version of romance goes slightly against the age-old Bollywood
ishtyle ones. I really do not understand eye-locks and dupattas flying, so don't get me wrong if I cannot show some mushy and fluffy stuff đ EK does that pretty well herself, so I'm going for something different. Hope you like it! Toodles! đ
There was absolutely no doubt in his mind regarding it now. She had well and truly tampered with his luck quota. NOBODY could have such a terrible bad luck! Well, Aaliyah probably did have worse and then there was his driver with two mothers-in-law, his make-up man with his name (seriously, who named him Hari Lal Pankha?!) , Tannu's make-up man with, well Tannu and..Wait. This was about HIS bad luck and not the others! He was a Rockstar. THE Rockstar! And he wanted his good luck back!
"Chashmish! Oie Chashmish! Where are you?! Get here this instant!" he stomped his foot for effect, making her raise an eyebrow as she entered the room from the closet.
"Which book of mine did you read now? The Magicians?" she asked, rolling her eyes while picking the wet towel from the bed.
"You have a book on magic now?!" he started horrified "What..No! I did not read any book of yours. I need you to do me a favour. No, not a favour, a duty. Yes, you need to do your duty!" he said with satisfaction of an idea in his head.
"If this is about finding your missing nut then please forget it" she answered, continuing her folding of clothes.
"What nut? I don't have any nuts!" he retorted puzzled.
"Exactly!" she muttered under her breath, slightly loud enough for him to hear.
"You! You sly b..beauty!" he huffed while cursing himself for falling for that trap "I demand that you revoke my bad luck immediately!"
Pragya was used to the conversations on magic, hypnotism, fate, luck and her so called power. With a exaggerated sigh, she looked at her husband, preparing for the latest discovery he had made. "What happened now?" she asked with weariness in her voice.
"Tannu is pregnant" came the short reply, in a tone which implied that it was her fault. Somehow she knew she wouldn't benefit from protesting on that front and so tried to digest the minor atom bomb he had dropped.
The two minute silence which stretched between them was a mixture of different emotions. Initially there was some shock, followed by annoyance, assessment, amusement and finally acceptance.
Turning on her heels, Pragya went to her dressing table and started organising her things, leaving a dazed Abhi staring at her.
"Are you really that shock-resistant? What are you doing?!" he asked in an incredulous voice, observing her calm demeanour.
"Well, currently I am cleaning my table and later I plan to clean my book shelf. Why?" she answered in her normal voice.
"Aren't you going to say something?!" he retorted in a shrill pitch, much to his own embarrassment.
Pragya paused in her cleaning and turned around with a thoughtful and assessing look.
"Congratulations" she said finally, with a nod of her head " Though I am surprised and slightly puzzled. Your mark isn't always 'on the target' is it? Good aim I guess." she said as an afterthought.
"Of course I have good aim.. What?! What are you even talking about?!" his pitch was rising by the moment and his mouth was open now for loss of words.
"Your target skills. Usually, you never identify the right target do you? Always the wrong person, the wrong situation, the wrong decisions..you know, generally always off the mark. Somehow, you got it right with this one. Hit it right home didn't you now? Good job Rockstar." she patted his arm as she moved around him, making him shake his head with shock.
"Are you crazy? What are you..I mean how do you even do this?! Wait, how do you know about this. The pregnancy stuff I mean. You know how it happens?" he asked with a quirked eyebrow.
Pragya gave a snort of disbelief and raised her own eyebrows "Doesn't everybody? Why shouldn't I know?"
"Well, because you've never..I mean you haven't even kissed a person. So how would you? Oh! Naughty girl, you've read about all this haven't you?" he winked and taunted her, forgetting the main issue for the moment.
"Of course I've read about it" she answered with a roll of her eyes " Everybody has. It's called Biology remember? Something about reproduction you learnt at school? Never paid attention did you?" she said with a mocking tone.
"Oh please, I know all about the repro..urgh, THAT system alright? Just because I don't say things doesn't mean I don't know anything Miss Know It All!" he mocked back.
"Yeah right, I can see that. Forgot the basic rule of biology and protection, and shudders while taking the name of a human system. How very knowledgeable! I'm sure you don't even remember when or how this whole mess happened, do you? she asked in a slightly accusatory tone.
Abhi put his tongue out at the tone "I know HOW it happened thank you very much. All I need to know now is how to make it un-happen."
Pragya narrowed her eyes slightly "You surely don't expect me to come up with a plan do you? Because that is never going to happen." she informed him before getting back into the closet.
"But you SHOULD! C'mon! This is all your fault!" he whined as he followed her.
"Oh right because I am the hormonal teenager with the jolly-stick I cannot control?" she asked in a sarcastic voice, trying to shut him out.
"Jolly..Chashmish focus! THAT might not be your fault but the situation is! I cannot do anything now because YOU are my wife" he tried to argue.
"And that makes it all the more better for me doesn't it?" she asked as she stuffed her clothes into the wardrobe, with a sigh.
Abhi wanted to argue real bad but stayed quiet, hoping she would help him if he didn't fuss. Pragya came out after ages and looked him in the eye with a stern expression.
"This is the last thing I will ever do for you. Understood?" she said in her teacher voice and he bobbed his head meekly. Shaking her head, Pragya wondered how she attracted trouble all the time. There was absolutely no doubt in her mind. He had well and truly worsened her bad luck streak.
Please do give feedback? Will continue if you wish for it đł
