Why Pragya will love Abhi....

I see many posts on the forum about Abhi, so I made one for our crazy heroine Pragya.

We all know love is going to blossom between Abhi and Pragya soon and many of us will wonder why, many of us will be upset that Pragya fell for Abhi (with or without him making up for his misdeeds) and many of us will cheer for the love cause we are romantic suckers and can't help but be drawn into the Prem Kahani despite the many holes in the story and the lack of logic and reasoning for the love.

But, I can see Pragya loving Abhi and I will state my reason why. Please note, they are only my reasoning and nothing much else:

Women are sensitive and emotional creatures. Lets not deny it... even the most hardcore woman has an emotional side... and Pragya is not a hardcore woman. She is a sensitive and emotional fool. She places so much love on her mother and her mother trained her to be the perfect wife to her hubby that that training is ingrained in her and will always be one of the main reasons she stays and loves.

Tradition is on Pragya's side... she is married, the mangalsutra holds lots of power and importance to her. It might not mean the same to Abhi... but it means something to her and she attaches importance to that and to him by the fact that he was the one that placed it around her neck.

Family - they say when a woman marries a man, his family becomes hers. Pragya I'm sure is no less in agreement with this sentiment. She considers his daadi hers and his niece and nephew hers and despite the ill treatment, she even will help Aliya and Raj and Pammy and Akash and everyone else who needs it. Why? Because they are her family now too and with that family attachment, the importance of Abhi grows in her mind and in her heart... cause she now feels that their family is now ONE! This also goes for Abhi and HER family... the moment he accepts her family and shows concern in any way she will be a goner. Why? Cause her family is her life and him making her family part of his life will undoubtedly make him a part of HER heart!

Love love love... an emotion that many men and women have written about and tried to explain. An emotion that brings out the best love songs and lyrics. An emotion that has inspired millions of poetry across the world. Yet, its an emotion that is very subjective to the owner of the feelings and none of us can completely understand what another is going through or understand the depth and difference of their love.

They call it crazy stupid love for a reason... you dont have to have SENSE to be in love... the situation doesnt have to be sensible or made up of logic. Who am I to say what love is? No one... But I do know that Pragya will love Abhi, whether its for his protection of her when she needs it, the fact that he makes her smile even when he is torturing her or the fact that he loves to tease her and not in torture, but just for the heck of it. All the little things make an impression on her... all the little things add up to her feelings towards him.

Attraction... whether we want to admit it or not, attraction plays a part in love... and Abhi and Pragya are attracted to each other.

YES... she knows about Tannu... but like other women out there, she feels that once he loves her, he will be the ONE for her and Tannu will be nothing but a memory. For her, those feelings, the attraction, the mangalsutra, her family, his family, tradition and her feelings towards him will make her WANT to hold onto the marriage and will make her love him hard and strong.

For thats our Pragya... she loves with her whole heart, whether its her Maa, her sister, her family, and now... HER Abhi!

So, whether we agree or not, Pragya has chosen to love and love Abhi she will !!!

I love your thoughtful post. I don't agree with everything but I think it's well argued. I can't really add anything except that I just hope Abhi endeavors to deserve that love, because you are right. She will fall for him, regardless of what the audience wants or how they want it to happen.

she has to luv abhi coz she is adarsh nari for whom pati is parmeshwar.this is age old concept that if boy in ur house is spoilt let get him to married to cow like wife.she will reform him in good man.if girl does nt obey this marriage she is shameless,mannerless woman.girls r nt born to think abt their life.their whole life motto to fulfill other wish.so ekta has always given us adarsh heroine like pragya &vamp like tanu.abhi is bechara.man is never faulty.its tanu like girls who spoil man.man is just baby

Nice post. Soon Pragya will start falling for him but I actually wanted Abhi to fall in love with Pragya first.

Its true it's the acceptable norm for Indian girls in hindi serials to fall in love with their tormentors, no matter what torture, always the man changes and they fall in love and stay happily together. I also came into the show with my eyes wide open knowing this would happen and have accepted it. I think it's a western culture to show abusive relationships with an intention to show women empowerment to quit the marriage, it's not eastern culture at least from what you have said and what they show in the serials.

Ash, lovely post, beautifully reasoned. You have stated all the excuses Pragya might cite for falling in love with Abhi.

I wouldn't want Pragya to fall for Abhi until he repents and is deeply sorry, only then should she be allowed to relent. But if she is a sucker and falls for him inspite of all that has gone before, well, it is her thinking, sadly. We can rail all we want at the CVs for painting the woman as an Adarsh nari but there is not much else the viewers can do. I fault that upbringing that teaches a woman to respect her husband and household and excuse his every fault merely because he is her husband while failing to instill the same in the guy, to treat his wife in similar fashion. So, unless Abhi falls for Pragya first and does everything in his power to set things right between them, I will always think less of Pragya if she turns into an emotional fool and falls in love with Abhi before he acknowledges his mistakes.

Romance and attraction are fine and dandy but along with that there should be mutual respect and caring for true love to blossom and flourish.
