Wow what a post! Really, they show one scene on hypnotism and viewers watching these shows are brainless? Waise I have to ask, if you think so lowly about these shows, how come you are watching them in the first place? If you really have issue with Ekta's shows you'd have quit watching them long ago instead of still following them. And anyways a big majority of us don't watch these shows for logic (we already know that's not the forte of her shows) but to relax and as entertainment, so try no to take what's shown so seriously.

And yes, I agree that scene was dumb and totally unnecessary but trying to look beyond that I felt it was more to show just how far Aaliyah would go to get her way and just how much Abhi depends on his sister against his own common sense, and it's this that might lead to his downfall later.

Damn, it looks like I ruffled some feathers here. Honestly, this post was simply based on the hypnotism thing shown in yesterday's episode. And no where does my post say that hypnotism is not scientific or fake.
However, to show a scene where a character claims pragya is hypnotizing everyone is as ridiculous a thought as claiming that Pragya's or Abhi's daadi are undercover agents. The whole point I was trying to make was that writers need to know when to stop. There could have been other better ways of Alia trying to poison Abhi's brain again. Not to forget that Abhi thought a few episodes ago (after their marriage) that Pragya is also into kidnapping kids.

Of course, the whole point of these shows is not to deliver a social message. But, then what is the whole point of forums like IF, so that members can come and discuss their opinion, vent their frustrations, discuss characters, storyline etc., right?

As far as audience appreciation is concerned, the rising TRPs is reflective of the mood of the majority of the viewers. And just because I mention that folks like us on IF forums try to find logic in these shows doesn't mean that I am claiming that Indian audiences are dumb.

IF members are perhaps less than 1% (and yes, I made up that number, but you get my point) of the audience and do not influence TRPs. I wish people understood that.

Lastly, I wish there is more room for hearing different viewpoints on this forum instead of members pouncing onto each other.

We all can have an opinion and we need not agree.

alia who calls pragya behenji and believes herself as hi-fi social person could have given better reason like "this girl knows to manipulate all people "

hey mohini...nothing intend to insult u or nothing like moral policing.neither i support the fact that hypnotism is taken i mean all these silly factors on this show is insane.we knew it.,but all i am trying to tell u is u cant blame audiences.,the show was promising in the beginning & that's the reason it fetched so many audiences.,if this continues that will be reflected in trp's.we should not forget the basic tendency of indian audience.,its thier TOLERANCE not thier dumness...all i tried to explain u was not to blame audience.,like how cv's give away excuses...these are the audiences who were brought with epics like Mahabharat which was not just a tale but also the foresee of future science like nuclear weapons & stars & constellations.we are not stupid audience.,but yes people are emotional.hope u get me this time & my apologies to u.i was taken back but ur comment.i thought i need to clarify & hence this post mohini.

I didn't take any offense at all, Sindu. I just take IF as a forum for expressing opinion, appreciating shows, and venting out frustrations about shows every now and then.
I think my point about audience meant that it is a 2-way streak. I never said the audiences are dumb. It's true that the vast majority of audiences watch daily shows for masala and that is something the production houses understand and we see the result of that in our daily shows. It's just that the writers go way over the top with certain tracks and scenes. Amazingly, it does help with the TRPs.

Finally, if we all were to only say nice things about any show, then IF forums would not be a discussion forum at all. Also, discussion and criticism (negative or positive) can only help a show. Of course, whether or not that happens is a completely different thing.

And finally with very due respect to everyone, I find it silly when someone says, if you don't like it, don't watch. The reason for the same is that not everyone is watching a given show religiously. Most of us channel surf, read updates, watch a few scenes here and there, or follow a show intermittently. Anytime we find something interesting or worth discussing, we post it here.

Anyways, this was all supposed to be good humor and light discussion. I'm outta here for now.
