Alright friends, I promise, this is my last bit to write on Abhi-Pragya wedding anniversary triology😆. Hopefully it doesn't bore you. (I am not too sure if it came out the way I wanted it to. I count on your comments to decide on that!).
This fiction is trying to answer my question of why Pragya should fall in love with Abhi!
Thanks! 🤗
The first two versions!
Take Three: The wedding anniversary: Abhi-Pragya fan fiction
"Ohh, that was awesome, my lovey-dovey Chashmish", Abhi whispered into her ear with his labored breathing. His drunken voice had Pragya's being shudder yet again. She bit her lip and ran her fingers into his sweaty scalp and hid her face under the crook of his neck, exhaling a sigh.
"I love you" Abhi kissed her lips with his, without giving her a chance to counter his words. She always wanted to be the first one to say those three words but he beat her to it this time too.
Only a few minutes later, Pragya slowly moved away from Abhi's arms while he seemed to have drifted off to a nap. As she gathered her clothes, she stalled to look at her husband of a year, Abhishek Prem Mehra, the beloved Rockstar of his generation.
Not in her dreams she would have thought of getting married to a celebrity, that too the one who generated intolerance in an otherwise tolerant her. Fate had played its game and he had married her under compromising circumstances and pressures from elders. Little had she known she would find love in its most uplifting form in him.
Placing a tender kiss on her sleeping husband's stubbled cheek, Pragya walked into the bathroom of the cruise ship they were travelling in. Abhi had booked the whole ship to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. As she stood under the warm water, she felt emotional thinking about what had transpired in the past year.
She had started off with him on a wrong note. A very wrong one. Although she had every reason to hate him, staying together with him in one house meant she got to see him beyond her preconceived perceptions and misunderstandings. She had shocked herself when she learnt her heart beating for him. But it was when she realized his longing for her, she was able to make peace with herself and with him.
Love had come late into her life, but it had arrived with its bursting magnificence. If she had thought she had once loved Suresh, her best friend, she could easily say that she had never known love before. Abhi's love had made her see herself in a different light. She had found emotions within her that she never thought existed. Her love for him was tender and passionate, overwhelming and generous, primal and sacred. She had grown to love him the way he is, with all his glory and limitations.
Finishing her shower, she wore a bathrobe and came to the cabin to find Abhi still sleeping. Having known how difficult it is to wake him up, she decided to ring his mobile phone.
"Pragya, please attend my phone" Abhi said rubbing his eyes.
"It's Pragya calling. We will have to starve tonight if you don't wake up" Pragya said taking his dinner suit out of their suitcase.
"Hmm, alright Ma'am" Abhi yawned and dragged himself out of the bed and walked behind Pragya and wrapped his arms around her.
"Eewww, Please, Abhi. I am all clean" Pragya resisted him.
"Really?" Abhi kissed her cheek sloppily and grabbed his clothes to walk into the bathroom.
Cleaning her cheek with her bathrobe Pragya gave him a disapproving stare only to receive a wink back from him.
Pragya took out the black saree she wanted to wear for her anniversary and contemplated how she will carry it off. She had bought it on her own recently. Black was one colour she had never worn but she had learnt that it's Abhi's favourite. But colour was the least of her issues. It was the halter-neck blouse that worried her. She had never worn such revealing attire. But she still wanted to wear it.
Tying the thread on her back, Pragya turned her back to the mirror to examine her almost uncovered back. She felt beautiful surprising herself, but also nervous. She was determined to go ahead with this attire. She wore her saree quickly and let her hair loose to have it cover her back. Finishing her look with minimal accessories, kajal, lip gloss and a small bindi, Pragya searched for her contact lenses, only to find them nowhere. As she blamed herself for forgetting to pack them, she heard a whistle.
"WOW, Chashmish" Abhi had just gotten out of the bathroom buttoning his white shirt.
Pragya turned to face her husband. Dressed in black trousers and a white shirt and having just trimmed his facial hair, he looked striking she thought. If only she could charmingly give words to emotions and thoughts like he did, she mused. But soon, her thoughts were replaced with the immense desire and approval she saw in his eyes and that had her feel proud. But her cheeks flamed instantly feeling coy. She broke her eye-lock with him and looked down. Abhi slowly walked up to her and lifted her chin with his fingers to make her face him "My spicy hot baby, I don't mind starving tonight, I can just eat you up". A jolt of electricity suddenly travelled through her system. But just then, there was a ring on the cabin phone. Abhi smiled disappointedly and picked up the call. It was from the cruise restaurant reminding them that their dinner was ready. Abhi confirmed to be there in a couple of minutes.
"Let's go" said Pragya bringing Abhi's jacket in her hand.
"After dinner" winked Abhi earning an uninhibited laughter from Pragya.
Abhi wore his jacket and his di Gio perfume. Adjusting his wet hair a little bit, he offered his hand to Pragya to walk her out.
Since Abhi had booked the whole cruise ship for him and her, it was just the two of them taking the cruise. An exotic Italian dinner was served. Pragya had found it all way too dreamy. She even had pinched herself once to make sure she wasn't woolgathering.
After the dinner, Abhi suggested they go up by the front desk to get a beautiful view of the late summer sunset. Pragya climbed up the stairs with her short heels carefully, with Abhi helping her. The view was hypnotic. The sky turning into multiple shades of yellow and red, the sun balled up to disappear in a short time, the moon already making his presence known, all in the background of the mighty ocean- Pragya looked around spellbound. Abhi kept his gaze on Pragya.
"Come, dance with me" Abhi invited Pragya with his hand stretched out for her.
Pragya flashed a smile at her husband and placed her hand in his. Abhi kissed her hands.
Knowing Pragya wasn't comfortable dancing Abhi narrated "your left hand on my shoulder here and your right hand in my hand. Abhi locked his left hand in her right put his other hand around her waist. Pragya followed his eyes and instructions.
"Now, just listen to the music and move with it" Abhi started moving his feet.
"There is no music" wondered Pragya.
"Listen to the ocean, baby. Listen to your heart. My heart." smiled Abhi as he swayed rhythmically guiding her along.
"Close your eyes, Pragya. Just listen. I hear the rhythm everywhere" Abhi said looking into her eyes.
Pragya closed her eyes and centered her thoughts. Abhi was right, she thought. It was music everywhere. She could feel it. It was something magical.
"Do you feel what I feel, Pragya? Is it the silence? Is it bliss? Is it love? Or is it you? My heart feels full. I am happy. I feel thankful." Abhi said closing his eyes.
"I love you, Abhi" That's all Pragya could say.
"I love you too, honey" Abhi kissed Pragya's forehead.
He bent and locked his arms under her hips to hold her up. As he swirled her around slowly, Pragya looked up to the sky. She felt liberated. Abhi smiled at her looking up.
Moments later, he brought her to the ground, only to lead her to the tip of the deck.
He made her stand there and held her from behind wrapping his arms around her. Slowly he guided her arms to spread.
"Like Titanic?" laughed Pragya.
"Exactly" saying so, Abhi spread his arms along with hers. Pragya closed her eyes and was lost in the magic.
"Pragya" Abhi whispered in her ears. "I just want to say, I can not thank heavens enough for you. I just lose myself to a happier place when I am with you and I never want to come back from there. You are beautiful in and out. I madly desire you, I adore you, I worship you and I love you. I need you till the end of my life and after. Please be with me, my love" Abhi placed a tender kiss on her shoulder.
Pragya's eyes got wet with tears of elation. She felt she was on the top of the world. She turned towards Abhi and brought her hands to hold his face and looked into his eyes with gratitude and love. Abhi removed her glasses and wiped the happy tears in her eyes. Throwing away the glasses into the ocean, he kissed her to the sun set.
