Tell me one thing... If the gil family does not want injustice to both the kids, why cant mahender adopt kulfi... that way she gets family and protection, guidance in music... at the same time.. sikandar's family will not break

Great idea. I too was thinking on the same lines. Now we pray for CVs to read your post and act accordingly.😆

On a more serious note, I think they will not show this as they want Kulfi to feel motherless and fatherless and for Sikander to keep being there for her. Through a series of coincidences, the CVs wish to show the bond between Kulfi and Sikander grow really strong in preparation for the big reveal. If Mahender adopts her this bonding process will be thwarted.
