"Earlier I used to try to act now, it comes naturally".

Akaashdeep Saigal
TV actor

Akaashdeep Saigal > Hi guys...Love to be online...

gabbar > You recently participated in Jhalak Dikhla Ja, but could not make it to the top. What was the reason according to you?
Akaashdeep Saigal > Maybe my time was not right. You don't have to be the winner at every cost. My reason for being there was not to win, but about my spirit.

guudi > What other projects do you have?
Akaashdeep Saigal > I am currently doing Kyunki. It takes up 20 days of a month. The movie I'm working on is still incomplete. Once I finish shooting it will release.

floral > I only came to know you as an actor when you came on 'Jhalak Dekhla Ja'. You danced quite well, at least better than Mahesh (whom the judges were praising). Don't you think that the judges were biased? It seemed as if they had made it their ultimate aim to eliminate you!
Akaashdeep Saigal > Everybody has their own Karma. If they have been biased things will come back to them.

dsrhthtrh > Do you think an actor's popularity is limited to his or her last appearance on TV?
Akaashdeep Saigal > I do not think so.

dsrhthtrh > Hi Akash, do you think Mona deserved the 1st position? Who do you think should have won?
Akaashdeep Saigal > I can only say that in life the deserving candidate always wins. It was just fun and we learnt so many dance forms.

roobii > Hi Akash, what are you doing nowadays? Are you married?
Akaashdeep Saigal > I am not getting married soon.

guudi > Hi Akash, you were great and very natural in Kyunki.
Akaashdeep Saigal > Thank you so much. I'm going to get better and better only for you.

kartihk > What sort of portrayals do you personally prefer to do?
Akaashdeep Saigal > Basically anything that is interesting and I can do justice to.

rachit15 > Hi Akash, from 'Pyar Mein Kabhi-Kabhi' to 'Kyonki', you have nourished your acting talents & that's great. Are there any Bollywood projects coming your way?
Akaashdeep Saigal > They have been coming. I have been really choosy. If I get something nice I will definitely take it up.

kartihk > Amongst the roles that you've played which is your favourite character and why? When did you realise that acting was what you wanted to take up as a career?
Akaashdeep Saigal > It was actually after Gladrags in 1997. I did a movie, 'Pyaar Mein Kabhie Kabhie' then Supari and now Kyunki.

rachit15 > Akash was acting always your first choice or did it happen by chance after becoming an engineer?
Akaashdeep Saigal > It jus happened. It wasn't my first choice.

rachit15 > Akash does Ekta expect from her actors when you are shooting? I auditioned for Kyonki and still have not got any feedback. Where should I start my acting career, please guide me.
Akaashdeep Saigal > > You need to give your picture to Balaji films and to other production houses. If they feel you suit the character they will definitely call you.

bigjos > How did you feel when you were facing the camera for the first time?
Akaashdeep Saigal > I was sort of nervous.

bigjos > How did you manage to be so natural while playing Ansh? Are you a spoilt brat like him?
Akaashdeep Saigal > No, not at all. In fact I am the exact opposite of that character.

rachit15 > How would you describe your nature in respect of 'Eklavya' or Ansh Gujral' ?
Akaashdeep Saigal > I relate more to Eklavya as compared to Ansh.

jackonjill > Who inspired you to take up acting as a profession ?
Akaashdeep Saigal > My inspiration is Amitabh Bachchan. He has a really positive aura around him.

rachit15 > Akash you enact negative roles really well. What is your dream role?
Akaashdeep Saigal > Thanks a lot. Al Pacino in Scarface.

jidds > Do you prefer to read your scripts in advance?
Akaashdeep Saigal > Yes... but in TV one doesn't get the opportunity. You get the scripts 15 minutes in advance.

jidds > As an actor how have you progressed?
Akaashdeep Saigal > Earlier I used to try to act now, it comes naturally.

jackonjill > How difficult was it for you as an individual to get your first break ? Did you have to struggle?
Akaashdeep Saigal > No I didn't have to struggle. It just happened to me after Gladrags.

jidds > Tell us about the off-screen Akashdeep.
Akaashdeep Saigal > Two words - Beautiful Life.

jidds > Stress buster that always works for you?
Akaashdeep Saigal > A physical workout and swim.

rachit15 > Akash thanks a lot for entertaining us and hope you'll continue in future. I hope we'll work together in Kyonki .Thanks a lot for guiding me, I'll really look forward to grab the opportunity this time.
Akaashdeep Saigal > I wish you good luck. Hope you get what you desire. All the best.

jidds > What goes into enhancing the performance from the one that is given in the script?
Akaashdeep Saigal > That's completely an actors take. How s/he takes the character. Basically one has to get into the shoes of the character.

rachit15 > Akash what was your family's reaction when they first saw you on screen? Have they supported you in the decision of changing profession from being an engineer to an actor?
Akaashdeep Saigal > They are very supportive.

jidds > What are the things that you consider now while taking up a role?
Akaashdeep Saigal > TV - How many lead characters, potential character. Movie - Screen play, how the role has been shaped up and how the character is written.

jidds > Which media do you prefer - films or serials? Why
Akaashdeep Saigal > They are completely different. I love TV for its reach and connection to the masses and movies are my passion.

whacky > What has been the driving force in your life?
Akaashdeep Saigal > My guiding force is my dad and driving force is my family, friends and my girlfriend.
