Contract marriage

Can someone explain the concept of contract marriage? Like today aditiya said to ranbir that ranbirs is not even kanyas husband... so they're not married to begin with ?

I know I was little bit confused with this too. I think that they are "legally" married because they had a court marriage so technically they are husband and wife. But the contract is just something personal between Kanya and Ranbir, where they only have to be married for a certain amount of time (one year I think) with some rules and regulations of the marriage. That's what my reasoning is with all this. Hope I'm not wrong!

Yes exactly. Also, they dont develop any physical or emotional attachment. That's why poor Kanya has to sleep on the chair almost every night 😆
