Dare to play devil? Akash- Article

Akashdeep Saigal is definitely getting evil by the day. The actor who made his mark in the negative role of Ansh Gujaral in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has been chosen to play Duryodhan in Ekta Kaoor's Mahabharat.

Our source says, "Ekta was keen on casting Akashdeep as Duryodhan. Initially, Akash was hesitant about playing a mythological character but Ekta ultimately convinced him to do it."

Akashdeep was also was in two minds about essaying the biggest villain of Indian mythology, as Punneet Issar had already made an impact as Duryodhan in B. R Chopra's Mahabharat.

However, Saigal was the unanimous choice for the entire creative team of Balaji Telefilms for Duryodhan's character.
Our sources say, "Akashdeep is already working on his body to play Duryodhan in the show."

Our source adds, "Ekta Kapoor prefers to make her own version of Mahabharat as there is already a lot of competition with Dr Chandraprakash Diwedi also doing his own show on Star Plus."

Ekta's show will be telecast from the August 15. Says the source, "Ekta is still looking for actors to play Arjun, Krishna and Draupadi."

When contacted, Akashdeep Saigal confirmed that he has been signed on to play Duryodhan but refused divulge any further details.

Balaji's Mahabharata will have Chetan Hansraj playing Bheem and Ronit Roy as Bheeshma Pitamah.
