Television actor Amit Jain won many hearts with his portrayal of Ronit in Yeh Meri Life Hai. Later he went on to play lead roles in Mere Apne and Thodi Khushi Thode Gham. Kuch Is Tarah was his second project with Balaji telefilms. "There are some roles which you do just for fun and Chunnu in Kuch Is Tarah was one of those. It was my first experience doing a comedy," he says. In his five years in the industry, he has done some four serials. He jokes, "I have had enough of chocolate and want to move on to black forest. On a serious note, what I mean is no more daily soaps for me. I am looking forward to other options like films and reality shows." Having finished shooting for Mere Apne, he is on a break for a couple of months. "I plan to hone my dancing and action skills during this break. I would also love it if I get an offer for a reality show in the mean time. Nothing like being paid for my dance training!," he laughs. While many television actors are moving to films, yet others are loyal to television. Amit says, "Why not? TV is a very lucrative medium. All the TV actors get their own personal van. Besides, you will find many of them driving a Mercedes." Before Amit made his foray into television, he had a stint with his family business. "My father and brother are into jewellery manufacturing and I have working knowledge of the same. Traditional Indian families want to make sure that their children have something to fall back on just in case their careers don't work out the way they envisioned them to be," says Amit. Apart from acting, his interests also involve travelling. "I love travelling. Going to new places is an enriching experience. Before travelling anywhere, I research about the place and I make sure that I cover all the must-see spots," says Amit. He signs off by saying, "This is my second visit to Gujarat and the people here are very warm." '+ capt +' '; bellyad.innerHTML = b2 + b1; |
