Nidz made a mockery of her gullibility..and this eventually led to Sushila being viewed in negative light by Ranga's parents...she probably would have had to deal with a lot of things once she returned to her village... Ranga's parents would have told everyone the reason they broke off the negagement..that would tarnish her image and mar her future marriage prospects wouldn't it..the "modern" tag is a liability for Sushila...if Mallika had done something similar to someone else then we would have been viewing it from a different prism altogether..

Mallika didn't do a good deed by hiding the file.. but it wasn't life threatening.. it did make Ashutosh raise a hue and cry ( like how a dean should )...but haven't we seen such incidences of office politics ( forget about love)... such things do happen.. if Mallika's character should be crucified then it is for other crimes.. which are greater -- ex attempt to murder ( I still hate KP for that track)😡

Many times I get to read that Mallika grabbed the house from Nidhi and become a reason for Chote baba's heart attack... This is also baseless. Similar fate would have happened to Sushila.. what if that village girl commits suicide for being rejected...

As you say, that attempt of murder and trying break the AshNi family are the things one should hate her... I wonder what bhoot went into KPji's brain...

But otherwise, KPji's original idea to make a strong third character was applaudable. She was good looking, intelligent, competent and more than everything loved Ashu to the core (remember, she tried even to kill herself)...

Not only that... She was redeemed towards the end... but not like filmy redemption... She still loved Ashu.. Never said.. 'aaj se Ashu mera bhai hai'... so she maintained her single stand.
