Many things have happened in parallel around that dining table in seconds.

First, uncertain Ashutosh turned into a confident Ashman and found his original bearings.

I must say, Dadibuas are the most useful of all relatives. They have these uncanny abilities to steer any situation to their advantage. She smelled a prospective bridegroom material showing interest in her grand child.

Nandini had that motherly instinct to recognize the changes in her surroundings and ready to open her wings over her chickens.. I mean Ashutosh.

If at all, anyone was unchanged, it was BB. Quickly he cleared his plate.

' How was that Pulihora Nidhi? We add a dash of jaggery towards the end.. that gives edge to the tangy tamerind'

Everyone jumped out of their reveries to the reality and looked at BB, as if he had just spoken something Japanese.

...

'Nandini, are you searching for a girl for your son?.. otherwise, kya pata... if your son introduces a gori chamdi wali on skype'... DB started her covert operations.

'Mallika makes a tasty khichdi... infact khichdi has a preferred place on south-Indian platter'... BB replied...

'Varieties of rice do not suit for Lucknowi winters.. we need something substantial to retain energy...' Nandini retorted...

Ashutosh was in a hurry... unless he speaks now... BB will make a perfect bahu out of Mallika and there will be an everlasting battle of tasting-wills in the family...

'Mom.. I have no taste in American Kelloggs nor do I like khichdi... I want to eat something pure desi recipe..' Ashu thought he put his case forward...

'Then beta.. you will like Muli ka paratha ..Nidhi likes it a lot..'... DB hinted...

'Dadi Bua, doesnt muli smell rotten eggs..?' ..clearly, Nidhi's timing is unprecedented..
