Manipal is good. My son studied there but I could not visit. Udipi is just 5 miles away and worth visiting. But do not venture in to sea near Manipal as it is deceptively calm oir dangerously turbulent.You can also visit Goa from there. The konkan Railway is really good and takes you on a picturesque and breath taking route on via ducts.All this I only heard from him.
