us jaan-e-jahaa.n ko bhii yuu.n hii qalb-o-nazar ne
ha.ansha.ans ke sadaa dii, kabhii ro ro ke pukaaraa
pure kiye sab harf-e-tamannaa ke taqaaze
har dard ko ujyaalaa, har ek gham ko sa.nwaaraa



To that sweetheart also, (my) heart and eye have
at times laughingly called out, at times weepingly summoned

(I) fulfilled the demand of every word of desire (of hers)
(I) lightened every pain, embellished every sorrow


I know how you must be feeling...mind ponders...eyes parch...heart wails...where do these loved ones go...what is the place where from no visitor returns... and the lamenting void cries ...

bahaar ab aa ke kyaa karegii, ke jin se thaa jashn-e-rang-o-naghma
vo gul sar-e-shaakh jal gaye hai.n, vo dil tah-e-daam bujh gaye hai.n

What will the spring achieve by coming now? Those (because of) whom there was celebration of colour and song
all those flowers have withered on branches, (all) those hearts have fallen dim (trapped) in snares

I know no word can give the needed solace...nothing in world can fill that piercing void...yet I want to say we all are with you sharing your pain equally 🤗

I feel myself extremely proud for being mother of an intelligent, beautiful, good-natured and utmost talented daughter, though for a short span of 18 years.
