Death is the inevitable truth of life. We see it around us all the time. But no matter how prepared we think we are, it still hits us when one of our own is involved. As I am sitting here and watching the world around me go on, my heart goes to those 45 people who lost their lives on Wednesday and faced the most gruesome of death one can imagine. They were burnt alive! Charred to death until nothing but a mass of stench was left behind.

A Bangalore - Hyderabad Volvo bus caught fire after its fuel tank burst into flames following a high speed collision. A jammed central locking system prevented passengers from escaping, adding to the tragedy. Only 7 people could get out alive. The rest, including 2 babies, died an unimaginable painful death.

Here, as we all celebrate Diwali and Halloween with our loved ones, my heart goes out to those houses which have lost the lights and the families whose lives have forever been ripped apart by this tragedy. May God give them courage to face what awaits them. May the departed souls rest in peace.

Suvika.

I read in the papers this morning about the horrific accident which took place at Palem near Hyderabad. So many innocent lives lost in this gruesome tragedy - most of them were heading to their home towns for Diwali and among them was a techie on his way to meet his newborn. May the departed souls rest in peace and God give strength to their families to bear this irreparable loss.

Suvika,
It is so true that death is a painful truth., more so for the near and dear who are left behind. In this case more for the people who got trapped and burnt alive. Bus travel in particular is very dangerous and most of the travels do not follow the rules. This increases the risk.

My heartfelt condolences to the families and prayers for the departed souls. may their souls rest in peace.

Indeed it is a dark and gloomy Diwali for the people of Andhra pradesh.
