I think we are too harsh on KPji. He has done a wonderful job in writing dialogues and creating emotions, which bound us to KTLK. We do not like to see ASHNI suffering and as if they are real couple, their grief touches us. That is the success of writer and also of the actors and other creative directors. I also feel SONY always gives different type of hatke stories in the serials they launch. However, like Colour Chanel the stories do not continue in large no.of episodes. I would like to have KTLK with same age difference based story but with a new story-line and scenario. with the same lead pair and other actors.

I agree to you at some extent Dr. Babs .. but still wud like to see the season 2 in the same atmosphere provided sum loose ends n tracks wont get repeated . Wud be happy to have Sk n Kk in the lead n the fine dialogues n editing n direction.. Every story at some extent gets lost somewhere but still our Ktlk has managed to get a special place in our hearts ! 😊

I dont know how you saw the wall ..but I was there too..
he was heavily influenced by the wall residents...
and he tried to please the wall residents and the producers at the same time ...
had he only done what wall residents had asked him to ,the show would have never become what it managed to ..despite all the handicaps they faced !
the only "class" it could have managed to become would have been the crowd of the shows which you see everyday on numerous channels ..and not the show which would remain in our hearts forever...
most of the wall residents were just interested in one thing-nidhi become mummy nidhi asap and to hell with her dreams .
they bashed left and right who ever even tried to support nidhi one bit -yours truly was called names by the very same ppl !irony being some of them who championed the mummy cause were mothers themselves ! wonder what kinda manners they teach their kids !

Hi there is really getting heated up , I posted all this as an opinion not for everyone to get hot about ,
One thing though surprises me in movies we talk of the director , or producer or even the cast but script writers ok someone like Javed Akhtar , yes, but giving kpji so much importance was always beyond me ,
But to make peace , true he wrote very well , for which we are immensely grateful
But also each of us can have our own opinion of his writing , in a democratic world , I may like something you may totally dislike , which each one of us have the absolute right to express ,
If all of agreed to everything then we might as well sing ringa ringa roses ,
Dissent is always fun provided we keep it at that ,
So I think will close the topic , sorry folks no more writing on this

Saw your post in the morning but couldn't comment as I was in office...I have not watched Dhoop kinare but have heard through cousins that viewers were gaga about the serial those days...Hasina Moin, Faiz, the great poet and writer of title song...the actors Rahat Kazmi (Dr. Ahmar) and zoya blended to form Dhoop Kinare... and when combination is such...epics do get crafted...that's the reason even today serial enthral the viewers and doesn't fail to impress the audience after generations passed... What proof does one need that our very own celebrated writer crossed the boundaries to try his mettle by altering the perfection to rewrite what has already got chiselled in gold and failed miserably... I don't know what the reason of his failure is...interference of channel or lack of intent (that's why he had to bring that mishmash of tracks)...whatever the reason... I only hope he may have eaten the humble pie and learnt the lesson that dialects only don't create legends... to become classics. One thing we can't deny he got the best of protagonists that created magic on the screen that I can't help reciting the following lines of dhoop kinare and Faiz in their memory:

Last night, your faded memory came back to me as though
Spring stealthily should come to a forsaken wilderness
A gentle breeze its fragrance over burning deserts blow
Or, all at once be soothed somehow the sick soul's distress.

Raat youn dil mein teri, khoi hui yaad ayi,
Jaise veeranay mein, chupke se, bahar ajaye,
Jaise sehraon mein holay se chali, baad-e-naseem
Jaise beemar ko, bewaja, qarar ajaye
