Lovely post.. They are my best friend..

Two books I like to read again and again..

Last lecture by randy pausch
And Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch albom

Both in my opinion should be read every couple months.. Simply written but give you such great insights..

A very nice and thoughtful post Dr ji.

I read anything and everything... You have mentioned about this jonathan stone seagull before too. I have not heard about it before but, I got the condensed pdf version online and read it. That one is so good. Thank you very much for suggesting this book.

Atlas shrugged I read very long ago . Since then I had become AynRand's fan and read most of her books. One less popular of her works is 'We the living'.. it is about a girl from Russia who is caught in the changing political scenario of the country. (then Russia was a part of USSR).

The most heart tugging are the stories of from various countries... migrating workers, especially the families who shelter in the foreign countries where they cant even speak the local language... Mainly the Africans... Somalia and Ethiopia.

I have one book to call inspired me or made a strong impression on me is 'Papillon'. It is about a convict who plans escape from the penal colony... though he is a convict, his belief, perseverance and the survival techniques till the end are awesome... many times, I quoted the lines as they are from this book.

and there was a book (forgot name).. on Monica Seles... how the stabbing changed her life and how it affected her psychologically.

I like to read the books Science fiction. I like Micheal Chrichton. I read every work of him and then Dan Brown. Wonder the way they tried to put a fiction in a the digestible way.

I love to read for young people. I was a member of Shri Satya Sai Baba's Narayan Seva when I was in India and used to read stories for orphan children every Friday. I wrote many stories for them too.
My favourite way of reading a book is enacting them in bits and pieces and applying them everywhere in the daily life. These children enjoyed various versions of Harry Potter.

There are many more.. kabhi fursat se..😃

Out of all this, if at all I have avoided anything is hard core emotional ones. not that I have never laid my hands on it.. but never relished... The deep emotions are a hard nut.

Also, as a teenager, tried M&B.. later ... chodo.. I dont know.. may be I have not reached that level.

My work needs most of the time reading from the scientific journals... so hardly anything exciting to mention from there here.

Oh God!!! I wrote an essay ... me and myself... Sorry..

Thanks Mudra u sure have a wide variety of books , used to read tons of fiction earlier now have sort of outgrown that phase, now Nelson's Text book of Paediatrics inspires me more than any other , yet when I feel demotivated still read Seagull , the story never fails to cheer me up ,but Ms Rocket Scientist u must be very busy cause hardly see on the forum, and can imagine u reading to children and enacting to .working with children is always fun ,they fight , they play and the cutest is when they hug us and make thank u cards for us
