Veteran actress Anju Mahendru, last seen in the tele-serial Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai (2006), is all set to make an entry in Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, this week. And guess what? She will be playing Alok Nath's love interest in the show. "It's marvellous to be a part of the soap, especially since I have worked with Alok Nath and Sharad Kelkar earlier. Alok played my brother in Ajai Sinha's Astitva' Ek Prem Kahaani some six years ago. That was the first time I got to work with him. Hope our present track works with the audience. We have already started shooting and I am enjoying my role. The character is very much like me in real life," said an excited Anju, who will be playing a widow in the serial.
The present track sees Alok Nath suffering from brain tumour. Nidhi, who is feeling helpless and upset about her nana's condition, flips through old photographs. She chances upon Alok Nath's photographs with Anju, who apparently is an ayurvedic doctor running a dispensary in Allahabad. Nidhi decides to go and look for her and finally brings her to Lucknow, where the story is set.
The track will experiment with a middle-aged love story and how it creates problems in Dr Ashutosh (Sharad Kelkar) and Dr Nidhi's (Kritika Kamra) lives. "We are targeting at a completely different age group. This track will be such that viewers have never seen anything like this before on Indian television," said a source from the unit.
We got interested after finding the show's lead actor, Kritika Kamra, playing a guessing game on different social networking sites. She has posted one of the photographs from the album that prompts her to visit Anju in the serial.
