CHAPTER

THREE

Ashu was observing the two ladies infront of him for quite a long time! he was totally ignored by them as they were busy in playing some stupid games...it seemed that he was invisible to them! he was trying his best to catch their attention...but these two ladies were completely forget about him! though ashu was feeling irritated for being ignored but he was also very happy... happy to see her daughter's smiling face...he saw his daughter's smiling face after a long time... the death of her mother shattered all her happiness... her warm smile was lost somewhere...with his own smile of course!!

And then the news of her diseases came to him like a bolt from the blue... he could barely manage himself after the death of his wife when one day arohi had fainted in his arm... he couldn't forget the day when her report came to his hand!!

That day was a nightmare to him... he forgot that he was one of the best neurosurgeon of lukhnow...he forgot all about his medical certificate that he gained...he forgot that he was the person who didn't gave hope untill the patients last breath! all he remembered that his daughter's life was at stake...his daughter..his only reason to live was suffering from leukemia!!

From that day he felt like a helpless man... though the doctors were very hopeful about her recovery as she was in the preliminary stage... nd moreover as she was a child, she could cope up with the hard process of treatment!

he was happy...happy to know that her baby would recover...he hired the best cancer specialist for her treatment...they assured him that she would b well..but...but the next problem arise when the first chemo session started!.. arohi was in search of her mother in every nook nd corner of the hospital as she thought her mother might be admitted in the hospital...she refused to take any medicine let alone any other treatment untill her mother came..as a result her health became unfit for the hard chemo session...and it's above one month they were trying hard to make her fit ...nd it's not need to tell that they failed miserably...until last night his daughter didn't show any interest in anything...he almost lost hope...but then this lady came to their life with light of hope...nd her assuring word gave him more courage that may b all will b well at the end...he could not deny that the day when nidhi came before his car along with arohi he also thought that may b..may b he got a chance to save his beloved wife...but that not happened and couldn't happen..he knew!!

Though he found something wrong with nidhi's bihaviour! she played with arohi but most of that part she seemed lost...lost in her world...he was so busy with arohi that he even didn't ask her about her family or anything about herself! it seemed that arohi's treatment could b handled by her...so in his mind ashu made a plan to make her stay with his daughter...in return he could offer her a good amount of money!!

arohi was in nidhi's arm...sleeping quietly...her tiny arms snaking her neck...nidhi lied her in her bed slowly...she looked lovingly at her face...how innocent she looked! a tiny smile formed in her lips as she remembered how arohi refused to let her go nd didn't allow even her father to come near her...nidhi found herself in arohi...she was just like her...mumma's girl! usually girl's are more attached with their father...but she was an exception in that...she always loved her mother most...her mother was her whole world...may b that was the same thing with her mother also...because she found her mother always busy with her...she was busy to make this cruel world beautiful to her...as if she was determined to make her daughter the purest person in the world...nidhi heard about only the fancy world that doesn't exist at all...and when she learn about the truth—her mother left her alone...all alone!!

ashu was sitting in the sofa when nidhi came out nd saw him.

...dr. ashutosh! arohi is sleeping now nd it's quite late! i think i should leave!

...yeah! miss. nidhi! of course! lets go! i will drop u!

...no..that's..!

nidhi couldn't finish her word as she saw ashu going outside picking his car keys! so she had to follow him!

both were quite silent during their ride...as if didn't know what to say or what not! ashu was first to break the silence!

...thank u,miss. nidhi! u have done a lot for my daughter!

nidhi just smiled at that nd didn't say further word so ashu continued!

... so,nidhi! apke family me kaun kaun hain?

...koi nehi!

...koi nehi?—ashu was surprised nd it was visible in his voice!

...nop! koi nehi! actually main bhi nehi rehti agar ap kal uss waqt mere ghar nehi aatein!!

...what that means nidhi? u sound ridiculous u know---ashu now felt disgusting with her every words!

...that means i was going to kill myself!

...what? is that means k u came purposely in front of my car?

nidhi looked straght at him now as he stopped the car suddenly!

...yes, dr. ashutosh! but ur daughter nd u saved my life! nd u know today i passed my best day with ur daughter! nd i am really thankful to u that!

ashu was still quite and schocked...then said slowly—r u making fun of me??

...do u think that i do that?—nidhi retorted back!

... can i know why u want to suicide??

ashu looked at her for sometime nd then turned the car to the direction of his house once again! nidhi saw that nd tried to stop him!

...dr. ashutosh! ye ap kaha jarahe hain? pls gari rokiye!—she schreamed but ashu didn't pay any attention to that!

...dr. ashutosh! pls.

ashu once again stopped the car...kept looking straight as if making his mind for something! then after sometime he turned to nidhi!

...so! u want to die, haan!?

...i think i have told so! ...hmmm! ok..it's ur life! nd i have no right to interfair!but indeed i have a proposal for u!

...proposal? now what's that?—nidhi was totally confused now! actually she didn't have any idea why she told all that to him! nd now when she told.he was giving her a proposal!

ashu looked her confused face nd so he continued--- dekho nidhi! ap marna cahti hain! agar main apko nehi bachata to shayaad ap abtak mar bhi jaatein! ap of course jab cahe mar sakte hain..lekin ap apni jindegi ki kuch aur pal kya meri beti k liye ji sakte hain?? apne to dekha hi hain k wo apse kistarha attached ho chuki hain! aur agar ap madad kare to shayaad uski treatment me asani hoon! aur phir ap marna chahe yaa kuch aur_that's ur choice! mujhe koi problem nehi hogi!

nidhi looked at him with her uttered surprise! she didn't think that this man could react so calmly hearing about her suicide..nd moreover that giving her such kind of proposal! though she was not expecting that but she found that quite good! she couldn't deny that she also fell in love with that cute baby...nd wanted her recovery! then with much more thought she agrred with dr. ashutosh!

...ok! dr. ashutosh! may b u r right! i can die whenever i want! but i would be happy if i help arohi in her treatment! so, it's done then! but what u exactly want from me?? how can i help u in her treatment?

ashu smiled hearing her word! he had a strong feelings that something was wrong with the girl which was troubling her...nd today her affection for arohi didn't hide from his eyes! he also knew that if he allowed her to stay alone nd tried to interfair in her life she wouldn't allow...she must b did something very dangerous...it was her luck that all her's previous attempts had not worked...so he made the trick...nd it's his luck that his tricks worked!!

...that i will tell u later, nidhi! now u tell me if u want to go home or i will take along with me once again?

nidhi smiled looking at him—don't worry, dr. asutosh! i won't hurt myself! u can drop me home nd i promise i will b there in ur home morning!

ashu also smiled and started his car once again!

both arohi and ashu were sitting in the dining table...making noise with their spoon nd screaming---khana do! khana do!!

nidhi ran quickly from the kitchen with her special aloo paratha nd served both of them nd smiled a contented smile! her pallu was tied in her petticote nd she looked like a perfect housewife!

...dr. ashutosh! ap bhi arohi k saath saath bacche banjate hain kya?—though she told in a annoying voice but her happiness reflects in her eyes!

15 days had passed from that day...and this 15 days was the best days of her life! she found once again her lost peace nd happiness in form of arohi! whenever she heard her saying mummy her heart filled with happiness...and dr. ashutosh become her best friend...though she didn't tell about her past life yet!

arohi's first chemo had gone successfully...nidhi setteled down in dr. ashutosh house! all seemed good!!

nidhi took arohi's charge...ashu had no problem with that at all! as she looked after her better than him...though ashu's dadi bua and dr. mathur hadn't met with her yet! they would return from their tirth today...nd so nidhi was very tensed!

arohi nd ashu made her more nervous with their continuous teasing!

...pata hain mummy! ye jo dadi bua hain na bahot strict hain! sabko daat ti rahti hain! hain na papa?—arohi winked looking at her father!

nidhi looked at ashu to confirm arohi's word!

...sach mein! dr. ashutosh?

...haan! nidhi! sach mein! dadi bua kuch purane khayalat ke hain na...to unhe sab kuch rasmo riwajose pana hain! aur agar unki marji k khilaf agar kuch hua na to samjho wo to gaya!

...to mujhe kya karni hogi?—nidhi asked them in a scared voice!

ashu nd arohi smiled at eachother as they saw their plan had worked!

...mummy! dadi bua ko na khana bahot pasand hain! unhe aloo paratha, chole bhatora, rasmalai aur...aur... aur kya pasand hain papa?

...aur palang panir, gajar ka halwa! buss aj itna hi bana do! kuch aur yaad aaya to bata dunga! hain na arohi! aur haan nidhi...unhe namaste karne k pehle nahalena jarur!

...wo ku?

...wo kya hain na mummy dadi bua na sab kuch saaf sudra pasand karti hain!

and here was nidhi to welcome dadi bua! she made all her favourite food nd also prepared her room! hk helped her in that though she was feeling very nervous! ashu went to receive them! nidhi thought she should were something traditional...so she wore a saari! she was all ready when the door bell rang!! she ran to open the door nd here she was standing with a rage in her face! the old lady looked her tip to toe with her big glasses nd then narrowed her eyes...asking her--

...kaun hain tu???
