I was sitting in my car, hearing some old classical songs through the speakers. My eyes were keep on drifting back to the main entrance of Ranganath house which was perfectly in my view.
Purposefully, I decided to park my car a little away from his house.
Being early from my supposed to be "Meeting Time" has granted me enough space to think how I am going to approach her.
Damn, I seriously need to know her name rather than HER.
But I guess, her name would be as sweet as she is herself. Just imagining her beautiful angelic face, brought a smile on my lips.
I look on the passenger seat at my side, to see those two beautiful fresh bunch of flowers, that i just got while coming here. I wasn't sure which flowers she will like, so i got every single, available in the shop and one was white and yellow flower bouquet for Ranganath's wife.
Was I overdoing things? I wondered. Cause as per my age, feeling these strange kind of emotions and giving flowers to her in person will be considered as a totally ridiculous act. Touching the soft petals of the flowers with my fingers, I did thought but right then, i looked up and saw her rushing into Ranganath house. My heart fluttered seeing her.
My eyes couldn't dare leave looking at her till she disappeared into the house and at that instant, they felt sad, alone, disappointed, useless.
This girl has surly waver a magic on my whole self.
I waited for some few minutes before getting out. I didn't want this meeting bring any suspicions in anyone's mind as I myself was not sure.
Anyways, after waiting for 10 minutes, which seemed more than an hour to me, I got out holding the flowers and the gift for Ranganath's baby. Correcting my coat and tie, I bend down to look into the side mirror to check on my hairs. Rushing my one hand through my hairs, i get a look at myself. This professional look was making me looking much other than I really am.
I was disappointed with my own self now and wanted to go back home to change into something a little casual but then my heart whispered "She might be gone by the time you will come back" And shaking my head, i hold my breath and went towards Ranganath's house.
"Nidhi...Nidhi...Please check on Ayush yaar..." The voice of a lady and striking utensils reached my ears as i approached the door.
"Chill Anji...I am already here...Awww...my poor baby...see maasi is here now...shhh shh" This voice make me smile as it was her's. I tried to imagine her face while she trying to make the baby get calm. And i don't know why, I wanted to see her taking care of my children further on.
OH!!! That was a killing thought"What happened?" The lady, I suppose was Anji, Ranganath's wife, called once again, making me get out from my dreamy mode.
"Diaper changing time anji...Don't you worry...you keep on making pakora's...I am going to take care of this little one" Her voice has a soft mischievous tone that made me smile.
"Oh..hh...Don't worry...shhh...calm down...Ohhh my lil one...Maasi is here na...tuch tuch..." She cooed sweetly and It was getting so unbearable for me to just hear and not see her, so next instant I rang the bell twice at once...
"Rangu...Please see who is at the door" Anji again screamed from above the screeching sound of the baby.
"Yeah Yeah...I am coming..." Ranga said and then his phone beeped. Few more seconds passed as he started talking on the phone and I was getting more angry on him as it seems he had totally forget about the door.
Can't he be multi-tasking? Why is he the administrator of such a big hospital when he can't even do two things in his own home.
I rang bell in aggression and forget to take off my finger from it till it opened and first an angry but quickly baffled turned Ranganath greeted me.
"Welcome Sir...I am so...extremely sorry sir for being late" He stuttered and as much as I wanted to bang his head at that time, I controlled my anger and placed a fake smile on my face...but I didn't for a second hide the annoying look that my eyes were portraying
"No problem Dr Ranganath" I said in between my teeth...
Ranganath gulped his saliva...and getting aside asked me in.
Thankfully, he still remember that...
I get in and my eyes instantly started looking around for my thing of attraction. But she was missing...
My eyes looked as far as possible, just looking for a slight hint, shadow, whisper, sound...anything that indicate me her presence but nothing.
"Anji...Sir is here" Ranganath called as he lead me to his living room and hesitantly, I went along him.
Some time later Ranganath's wife, Anji came into room holding a soft drink in a tray and greeted me. I took the drink and handed her flowers after congratulating her for the baby.
"Thank you so much Sir for these flowers" Anji said and sit down
"Umm...How are you feeling now?" I started a topic.
"Fine sir...In the start it was a little difficult but along with days and Ranganath's help and care, its all fine now" Typical wife...I thought with a smile...Praising her husband in front of his boss so he can have some extra sweet points in his pocket.
"That's so sweet" I said still with that FAKE cunning smile.
"So where is the little angel?" I asked impatiently. She was with him was the only thought that I was having throughout
"Anji..." Ranganath nudged Anji who left with a polite smile.
Me and Ranganath smiled at eachother hesitantly. I was playing with my fingers when I heard her voice once again
"No Anji, today this hour is only belong to me to hold Ayush...so back off" She said in an orderly manner making my heart race.
"Nidhi..." NIDHI...aww...what a sweet name, I thought in cmplete awe of it
"You go and bring pakoras...I will take him there" Anji huffs and left and then I heard the voice of her approaching steps.
Quickly looking up, I left in awe of this sheer beauty who was handling that baby with such tenderness. The facial expressions as sweet and soft as of a mother as she was talking to him in childlike voice.
"Ayush loves his maasi...Haina...Cause his maasi love him soo much" She entered the room and barely looked at anything else than the baby.
"Jeeju...He is so..." And she stopped as her dazzling eyes met mine and instantly burned up with fire.
"You??" She almost shouted making me and Ranganath jumping on our feet.
"NIDHI" Ranganath almost said her name in a warning tone.
She looked at Ranganath and then at me before looking back at him.
"Jeeju...why haven't you told me that your boss is going to visit today?" She said in a low tone but it was hearable to me. The way she said BOSS, it was almost a spat.
"Nidhi...Please" Ranganath pleaded. "He comes here to see Ayush..." Ranganath explained trying to calm her down.
She throw a resigning look at Ranganath and me and handing over Ayush to RN, left the room in silence.
The awkwardness surrounded me. And then I realized, I barely spoke to her.
I was so lost in admiring her that I forget to ask why she hated me so much.
"Sir, I am extremely sorry from her side...She is a bit...impulsive" Ranganath voice made me get back to reality. His solemn look was too pitiful to ignore.
"Its ok Ranganath...Its perfectly fine" I said and took a step before extending my hands for the baby.
"May I?"
"Oh...sure sure Sir" RN carefully gave me the baby as i cuddled him in my arms and sit down.
Awee...He was adorable..
"Waise...Why she hates me?" I asked hesitantly
RN shoved his hand infront of his face
"She don't hate you sir...It just a misunderstanding that she have..."
"Misunderstanding?? What kind of Misunderstanding???"
"Sir, as i told you earlier...It was her dream to be a part of KGH right from the time she got determined to be a doctor...When not being an KMC student, when she didn't the opportunity to pursue her career in KGH, she just get angry as all her effects, her high rank seemed useless to her...And being the dean of KGH, you are ultimate target of her anger...when you seriously don't have anything to do about that"

I played with Ayush for some more time. My eyes keep drifting on the door thinking that may be I will get her one more glimpse but she just ignored me. She didn't came back till I was in that room so I thought its better to leave earlier as the person, whom I actually wanted to see was highly on the mission to stay away from my gaze.
Exchanging pleasentries once again, I bid adieu to RN, Anji and Ayush and left there house.
Nidhi's POV
I was angry...NO
I was burning with anger...
The traitors...I groaned while pacing in Anji's bedroom.
"Jeeju knew, how much I hate him...Still he called him home at the time I was supposed to come..." Closing my fists in anger, I keep on mumbling
"He is his boss" Anji came for Jeeju's rescue as always.
"And I am his saali..."
"Nidhi...Calm down yaar...Why yoou are so getting hyper?" Anji's words made me left my mouth handing down.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS...Anji you know me..You know what he did to me and still you are asking me this" I was dumbfolded
"Nidhi, it was a hospital's rule...He had nothing to do with it" Now defending her husband's boss...Just GREAT...Freaking GREAT...
"Huh...And if you are forgetting, he is the dean of the hospital who make the rules..." I tried to put some brain in her
"Management make the rules...Stop being childish yaar" She huffs at ME...Huh
"Forget it...just forget in Anji...I am leaving now..." I grabbed my purse from her bed
"Nidhi, listen to me..."
"No the heck of it Anji...I can't believe my best friend is defending everyone except me...Now that surly made my visit ...GREAAT" Glaring back at her, I left too
Jeeju tried to stop me on my way out, but i just ignored him and kissing Ayush's cheek, left
I just reached my car and put my key to open it when i heard a deep voice.
"Umm...HI" my head turn 90 degree to look at the person I was least expecting to see now, standing there with a smile and holding a huge bouquet in his hands with a huge card attached on it, saying SORRY...
